I am now thinking of level 3 for Thailand that if even those fully vaccinated will still have to do two covid tests upon returning home in addition to the five tests in Thailand, it is not a great incentive to come to Phuket both for the cost and the risks of being quarantined. knowing that PCR tests have a 30% margin of error

PCR tests give a correct diagnosis of covid-19 at least 97% of the time.

Yep, the article nails it head on

"The government is trying not to be an opponent to any particular groups," he said.

'PRAYUTH IS THE PROBLEM'

Still, he said, with the military still behind Prayuth, it's difficult to see how he could be removed.

Ouch.

Holidayer's in countries abroad are watching closely as well, time for a new plan here Czar.......

That's the least of their worries. Choices are between lockdowns or allowing increasing virus numbers. Neither will encourage tourists.

The UK has similar population to Thailand and reported 16K cases yesterday, obviously they also need to get a move on with the vaccination rollout.

Wait a minute , don't they have the most advanced vaccination program in the world.

https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/

People should remember how many deaths there were in the west before vaccines became available, and should be grateful that Thailand is so far behind on that score.

The difference is the UK can usually be relied upon for accurate reports.

He also pointed out that several field hospitals, in the Deep Red Zone, are operating and are even equipped with ventilators for severe cases “but the problem is finding doctors and nurses.”

If they have almost 40000 extra people in hospitals who dont need treatment! Hmmm.. why dont have enough doctors and nurses!!!!??? Patients relatives cant now take care nobody inside hospital so ofcourse nurses has really much more to do what really needed! And doctors need to check up those extra people in there also!

PUT PEOPLE IN HOME ISOLATION WHO DONT NEED MEDICAL CARE!

Opinion: Phuket sandbox is looking more and more like a dream

It is now less than a week before the launch of the Phuket Sandbox.

With over-the-top hype, months of promotion, endless guidelines and warning from every sector, the debate over its implementation and prosecution rages on.

But this week, it was revealed that the government has yet to provide a list of the so-called “low to medium” risk countries that will be allowed to enter Phuket.

https://www.thaienquirer.com/28929/opinion-phuket-sandbox-is-looking-more-and-more-like-a-dream/

Last time I was at Central mall the vaccination centre on the ground floor was deserted. Literally no people, staff or patients.

today it is ram packed. I’d say the people sitting in the multi storey car park will be there for a couple of hours at least….in the car fumes, ugh. No sign of an appointment process.

so they found some vaccines from somewhere, but likely all for nought given the low level of tourists that seems likely.
