ill give u a clue 1/2 wit,it  begins with a V,no not venal....... vaccines.this comes from the intellect that stops vaccines from the west coming in so as to maximise 2 things, the tie up with the poisoners and also the massive profit expected by the making of vaccs here by an incompetent, corrupt entity run  and owned by the powers that be,so where are they ?the vaccs.this topic isnt even being discussed.it should be.not only is thailand short but so are many surrounding countries they contracted to supply,eg,indo,ph,malaysia,i wont include taiwan as big bro wouldnt have allowed that.this is the stunning intellect that informed us that when drinking water was brackish we should boil it to get rid of the salinity, well the obvious answer is....get rid of this 1/2 wit.but we see most here sitting around smiling going mai pen rai and feeling virtuous that its the right thing to do,we dont want disagreemen or a confrontation, god help us.its just not sanook.so here we are dissolving into the ether of a pre medieval feudal peasant mindset, millions livelihoods ruined and no end in sight or should i say start in sight.theres a strong connection between the virus problem and the feudal establishment along with the social political strata.dont hold your breath folks.

It won't all be over, lockdown or not - it's not going away any time soon regardless of what they do.

A 7 day lockdown will stall things a little bit for 7 days, that's it.  Nothing more.

Agree. And PM's comment about people disobeying the law. Where are the "law enforcement officers"? Oh sorry silly question.

how about asking medical experts becaus you very obviously are not equiped to make that call

Surely he has asked the 'expert' Health Minister?   His vast previous medical experience and excellence in the field of medicine will be invaluable. !!!

Although I agree with your point in general, Western politicians didn't exactly do great on this front for most of the pandemic either.

I would venture to say that is the understatement of the century

Why do I have the feeling, that this lockdown idea does not serve health reasons but might be of advantage to certain people running this country? Silenced riots are more difficult to control/contain than just locking down everything ..... just wondering?

How can we be sure that, after the lockdown, it will be over? If it is not, what should we do? I think that, if we get hurt but it will be over, then we should do it but, if we get hurt and it does not work, then we should explore other means,”

Such as implementing an effective vaccine programme, eh...c'mon Mr pm-even the philandering  hopeless hancock managed that.

It was at huge economic cost and that's the price that Thailand doesn't want to bear for the health & lives of it's people.

Lives of it's people ????

Let's recap : indian variant, no lockdown, not enough tests, very small vaccination... So we all agree a disaster in Thailand.

But what are the... results ? On the field ? In reality ?

27 deaths per million, since january 2020.

Yesterday, 1 603 people in ICU, and among them 460 are under ventilators.

For a country of 69 millions people.

So what are you talking about ? !

This so called "pandemic", very badly managed in Thailand... is doing not much as far as public health is concerned.

So why are you panicking ? Why are you calling for a "lockdown", this insane totalitarian policy taken from China ?

The answer is as we all know total vaccination of the population

So the Government need to proceed with haste

Forget the Phuket sandbox and concentrate on the whole country

We should have had you at the helm!! Sure you could have steered the west out of the pandemic in a few days.

Will real "tourists" (555) coming to play in the sandbox risk being locked down somewhere if they don't pass all their tests? or even register a false positive? Would they risk that and further quarantines in their home country once or if they made it out of forced hospitalization.  Would a real "tourists" risk getting a positive test from the many Thais in the sandbox who may have had only the ineffective Chinese vaccine or only one dose or no dose at all? And pay all those bloated hotel prices for a rainy season “vacation”?

Bingo!  Buy that man a cookie.

7 day lock down will stall things 7 days.

21 day lock down will stall things 21 days.

120 day lock down will stall things 120 days.

It is a virus loose in the general population of the world and will run its course until enough are exposed naturally or by vaccine as has every virus or disease has since the evolution of humanity.

You are 100% correct, the powers to be think with all the current advanced technologies and medical science they can defeat this COVID-19 virus.

Only when the virus and its variants have run their course will the global community be able to look back on this COVID-19 pandemic.

You can see currently, countries that were in a safe space status with COVID-19 infections are now back in lockdowns and cases and deaths accelerating again.

If we have learnt one thing over the years there is no quick fix for some things in life.

Science still can't fix the common cold, so why do we believe that all these vaccines are the silver bullets to eradicate the infection and transmission of this virus.

Do Lockdowns make a difference in a Pandemic

Lockdowns aren't a panacea. If you're infected you'll definitely infect the people you're locked down with.

The lockdowns and restrictions  that have been applied and still apply in Australia and the UK, have been far more stringent than anything seen in Thailand.

Both of those countries obviously don’t have the answer either.

Notice that the daily figures for the virus are no longer being published. They must be still going up otherwise we would be hearing them.

What are you talking about?  They are still being published, how can you say they are not?  You don't have to look very hard to find them - in newspapers, on government websites...

But sadly farang in Thailand cannot hold office.

Oh yeah, because farang people would have done this better - just as all farang countries controlled Covid so perfectly.

The only thing that will save Bangkok is the vaccination campaign.

As they've prioritized Bangkok already, the situation should start to improve within 1-2 months as vaccination rates (1st jab, 2nd jab) increase. For once I'm quite happy that he isn't trigger happy!
