A more likely scenario: impose same restrictions as in Bangkok and add some more (fencing off the beach, no sitting outside bla bla). Same depressive view like last year.

Yes. If the beaches were fenced off, malls closed and restaurants not allowed to have dine-in, there would be little point in coming from Bangkok or anywhere.

I'm sure they would have been interested in a drunken rant by a (properly masked) Pattaya farang.

Not all Pattaya farangs are drunks.Admittedly i am but not all.

The missus told me that a Thai vblogger was saying Maddona gave free vaccines to Thailand but the government slapped over 100% taxes on them. Is this true?

It does seem the government is not easing the entry of vaccines but I would like to know if this is fake news.

What's with Thailand's  AZ factory ?   Supposed to be able to make 10 million shots of AZ a month or more.  Could shoot every adult in Bangkok, farang and Thai in 1 month and then roll out to tourist and other areas. No need to sell or complete orders to Phillipppines or other countries till you get a handle on your own problems.

Won't happen; AZ set up the factory in Thailand because it agreed to act as a distribution hub for other SE Asian nations.

Senior Thai politicians boasted that Thailand had enough vaccines in stock or on order to meet the country's need. Thailand opted out of Covax for that very reason. It seems those politicians were mistaken at best, lying at worst.

I'm sure your missus "is different."  Why would she lie to you?

That rumour, if it is a rumour, probably originated from the same source that said Gary Glitter has volunteered to help out at a children's orphanage.

Yes, which just goes to show, "all that glitters is not gold."

Don't ask me, but it's been like this all along: give people plenty of warning that you're going to bring in restrictions so that they can get out of Dodge pronto. Don't whale on the Bangkok people, as with everything that's gone wrong on the Covid front since Christmas, it's the ineptitude of the government that's to blame.

And people partying in Koh Samet and Koh Chang? So what? Big deal? They are doing what is allowed! Let them..

Never happens in Australia! or UK! Our politicians never lie.

The way the customs dept works is to estimate a price then calculate tax (think of a number them tax it). I just want to know if they did this or not.

I guess you don't know so why comment?

I hate to steal your thunder ,a lot of what you claim is disturbing  but predictable !

The other disturbing activity  is when they go to eat lunch and take off those mask ,if wearing them  ! Most will be sitting less than 1 meter away from each other as they  talk and laugh during that time.
