Thailand to combine Sinovac, AstraZeneca vaccine doses to boost protection - minister

The WHO saying not to mix the vaccines, was taken out of context.  It seems that they were

really trying to say is that you and I should not go out and get ourselves injected with 5 different kinds of

vaccines, thinking that the more types we get the better off we will be with immunities. Considering how many times the WHO has messed up with

information, since the start of this pandemic, are any or you really surprised?  I am not.

I just hope that the citizens of Thailand and other countries can get them selves vaccines that will provide them with protection

from all variants of the COVID virus. That may mean getting 2 shots, of one kind of vaccine and an different vaccine to

boost the immunities that much more.  Good Luck to all of you.

Geezer

My wife, an employee in the local (sub-district) government was informed about about a month or two ago that she would get vaccinated soon with Astra Zeneca. Her appointment day has been set for July 16, but so far, she doesn't know where to get her jab. Looks suspicious to me. Let's see IF she really gets her jab on that date and if she really gets AZ. I told her not to accept Sinovac, if they have changed their mind. I will update if I have news.

Just as I thought, my wife's appointment was canceled today. Reason: no vaccine available. This is Thailand ... I'm past 75 and I'm a diabetic since 20 years, but I know that I won't get vaccinated this year. I'll just have to be careful: double facemask and stay at home.

I have the lot number and the serial number of the shot I was given, on the hospital next appointment print out. Also, one of the side effects was an enormous stiffy, which I'm told is a well documented occurrence. Now that IS fake!

Nothing stopping the Chinese drug company giving the vials lot, serial numbers and QR code, the manufacturer in this case mixed in some Viagra into the doses to promote a reaction, or was the reaction due to the nice nurse who administered the jab?!!  ¯\_()_/¯

Are you being deliberately stupid?

how does using a booster vaccine to increase efficacy to combat variants mean the original vaccine is useless?

all vaccines are going to have booster doses

That means we have to travel from Surin province to Bangkok? Or from Yala, or rom Mae Sot. How smart.

Your choice sir, I am just informing the readers who are 75 plus where a shot is available. At least as of Tuesday where a TV member walked in for a shot. Guess it's one of the perks of living in or near a big city rather than Nakhon Nowhere.

No problem, when they have enough vaccine (only God knows when that will happen) the vaccine will be available at our local hospital. The bulk of the population in Thailand lives in rural areas.

Not so anymore. Not quite at any rate:

Although, come to think of it, maybe it is again. Lots of unemployed city dwellers have returned to their villages.

This buggers the imagination.

As I said, the government should test the Sinovac to make sure it is real. Health workers shot with it have gotten sick for god's sake.

Why ruin the Astra by mixing it with a potential fake?

Yes exactly, TIT. The price you pay for a nice relaxed inexpensive life is that it will maybe be a shorter one. ????????

Why not drive the vaccine truck around a temple three times on a full-moon night while making offerings to the Gods of Needles, Syringes, and Vaccine ampules.  Oh, and add some herbal Creat to the witch's brew while chanting to Brahma and Rhahu.  Guaranteed to be 200% double-plus-good effective.
