Daily News reported that large numbers of Thai people queued all night to register for Moderna vaccine after Bangkok Hospital on the Mitraphap - Nong Sarai Road in Pak Chong, Nakhon Ratchasima, made an announcement on their website.

Some waited from 8 pm Wednesday until 8 am on Thursday morning.

One person could make 6 bookings but there were only 400 doses of the vaccine of choise available at the private hospital.

Registration was full within half an hour and many people were left disappointed.

The hospital said they would announce again if and when registration is reopened.

Daily News said that there was a clear feeling among the crowd that they didn't want Sinovac jabs.

This means, notes ASEAN Now, that they are prepared to pay what the Thai Private Hospital Association have announced as 3,300 baht for two shots of Moderna vaccine.

This is about ten days wages based on minimum wage.

Government vaccine - if it was available - is free and includes Sinovac and Astra Zeneca.

They didn't, Thailand hasn't even ordered it. This is just to get in line whenever it does show up, but dont count on it.

The good news here—-at least now, people realize the current available vaccines have an efficacy range from slim to none.

Smart people booked and paid weeks ago.

Now it's more mahem with Sinovac being practically useless and the Astra Zeneca distribution being cut 60%.

All the while the GPO still hasn't ordered Moderna for the Private hospitals yet.

This government is completely inept.

They don't have any yet. They are only taking registrations for it. You have to pay up front to request it.

Joe could this be a scam?

Maybe smart people paid months ago for no vaccine to actually arrive. Perhaps you are naive?

My wife and I registered for Astra at the hospital in the nearest big town, out here in the Issan sticks, not too far from Korat. This consisted of us writing our names, phone numbers, and passport/ID card number on a paper on a clipboard, with about 6 other poor farmer looking types at 8 am. I was told we'd be called in about two weeks. My coworkers already got theirs.

An analysis of millions of social media posts found that false news stories were 70 percent more likely to be shared than true stories. And a recent study showed that even brief exposure to misinformation made people less likely to want a COVID-19 vaccine.

Maybe. Possibly a token number. I think 2022 is a safer bet.
