Results from COVID rapid antigen home test kits not accepted for travel

PHUKET: Test results from COVID-19 rapid antigen test kits for self-testing at home cannot be used as evidence in order to travel, Vachira Phuket Hospital Director Dr Chalermpong Sukontapol has confirmed.

Pattaya presses ahead with plan to reopen to foreign tourists from September - targeting large numbers

Thai Rath reported that the authorities in Pattaya were pressing ahead with the "Pattaya Move On" reopening to foreign tourism come September despite Covid-19 infections being severe in the country at the moment.

Ramathibodi Hospital suspends some services as 300 medics infected with COVID-19

Ramathibodi Hospital has announced the suspension of all elective surgery appointments and some ward services, with the exception of emergency cases, until further notice.

Thais unconvinced by govt’s unique mix-and-match jab policy

He changed his mind after hearing the government rollout will use Sinovac for the first dose and AstraZeneca for the second – a mix-and-match formula untried by any other country.

Phuket brings infected residents home to get treatment on the island

PHUKET: The first COVID-19 case from a dark-red zone province arrived on the island yesterday (July 16) under the “Bring Phuket People Home” project aimed at facilitating infected people to receive medical treatment in Phuket.

Chalong pier livelier with sandbox tourist

PHUKET: Tourists under the Phuket Sandbox scheme make Chalong pier livelier, said tour operators at the pier. While a group of tourists were amazed with a group of 20 dolphins they saw on route to Koh Maithon. Today (July 17) there were about 300-400 tourists gathering at Chalong pier and preparing to join their island tours.

Thailand to promote Kaeng Krachan forest as world heritage

Red Cross confirms 1 million Moderna jabs arriving Q4

BANGKOK (NNT) - The Thai Red Cross Society has confirmed the Moderna brand COVID-19 vaccines it purchased under Government Pharmaceutical Organization’s (GPO) conditions will arrive in the final quarter this year and at the beginning of next year.

Commerce Min ready to control price of home COVID-19 tests

Armed forces ordered to set up more field hospitals

Woman stabs her boyfriend to death at Pattaya area home allegedly in self defense

A young woman has reportedly stabbed her boyfriend to death at a house in Banglamung, part of the Pattaya area, early this morning. She told Banglamung police that her boyfriend tried to attack her after midnight (July 17th).

Thailand – isolation tents for Corona patients due to overcrowding in hospitals

To reduce overcrowding inside hospitals in Bangkok due to the high number of Corona infections after the widespread spread of the Delta strain recently, the Thai authorities decided to allow Corona patients with mild or no symptoms to stay at home or in isolation tents centers in the Klong Toei area of Bangkok instead of hospitals.

One can usually spot a newbie to Thailand a mile off. 

 

They love to regale anyone who pretends to listen about their knowledge of everything Thai from the language to the politics, the daily life to the police. They know all about the Thai people - especially relationships - and they have the culture off pat. They usually condemn it to hide their ignorance.
