Why can't TMN cable Pattaya show CNN or MSNBC, has FOX News?

Featured Replies

Line response: Some channel  is copyright  we can not broadcast , sorry.

Can anyone shed light on this for me. CNN is international. Can't they pay some fee?

Most likely it's because TMN is the cheapest of the cheap cable options so the selection of channels is picked from the dregs at the very bottom of the barrel. Hence Faux News.

The answer right there  they don't want to pay the broadcast fees  maybe not so surprising now that there are no international tourists and all the hotels and guest houses are closed  they have stopped paying for cable service and the cable companies probably have lost a  lot of income  have to cut back wherever they can.

Perhaps they've just got good judgement and don't want to be associated with CNN.

"...the selection of channels is picked from the dregs at the very bottom of the barrel".

So how come they're not showing CNN, then?

They cannot afford to pay fees, because, as pointed out by i84teen pointed out, their audience has nearly disappeared due to their blatant socialist bias and fake news. Most airports have dropped their exclusive rights; and they are losing advertising income.

As the USA moves Center Right, CNN and MSNBC will become the Democrat's scapegoats...

In the meantime, those networks will continue to spew their fallacious nonsense - which will fuel their plunging ratings. Perhaps TMN are aware of this, so they have decided to exclude them.

I live in Pattaya and have TMN as my cable tv provider, but TBH with all the available apps for my smart tv I almost never watch cable TV. Plenty of other ways to watch whatever American news outlet you prefer.

But it cracks me up at the folks here using the OP's question to take digs at "the other side".

erm...

many of their channels look like they don't pay broadcast fees at all.

it reather looks like a private subscription and then running screen capture on it...

but in defense if TMN, they have been doing quite a lot of upgrades to their signals lately, even if I sometimes struggle to get enough signal quality for the new required bandwidth.

I get the idea they are perhaps not paying the dues for many channels on the cable network I use..... seem to originate from Malaysia. The English News is lost with the slightest rain....could be worse.... just CNN to watch, heaven forbid.

And Fox News, OAN, Newsmax are not?

CNN featured M Avenatti on their show hundreds of times, claiming he was going to replace Trump in the white house, see what I mean. They are political activists, and total hack jobs.

And Fox News regularly featured Matt Gaetz and Roger Stone!  All the cable channels are as bad as each other.

Is that Tom Brady on Fox Sports right now?  Doh!  ????

Fox is biased RIGHT.

CNN is biased LEFT.

MSNBC is somewhat to the LEFT of CNN.

OAN is falling off the edge of the earth to the RIGHT of Fox.

My subjective feeling overall is that CNN by far the BEST source of news of that list. Saying that acknowledging their bias and flaws. It's all relative. That doesn't mean that people should reply only on CNN of course.

The right wingers call CNN Fake News simply because they call anything including strongly verified FACTS as Fake News if they find it unpleasant and conflicting with their agenda.

Fox features some particularly insidious and dangerous "stars" including the incredibly notorious (beloved by white supremacists) Tucker Carlson  and Sean Hannity.

You didn't need to lie to make your point.

They did indeed feature him a lot for awhile but they NEVER claimed he was going to be president. You made that up. They did accurately report that he was considering RUNNING for president.

Yes, at this point he has been disgraced.

There are disgraced people on both sides of the spectrum. The majority on the side of the defeated ex-president.

Yes but some channels/companies may be more proactive in trying to protect their

"intellectual property"  the "English Premier League" for example

believe it or not  but Thailand does have quite stringent  laws on IP  but of course the enforcement of those laws is another matter.

IMO the very best and least biased show is Fox News Sunday hosted by Chris Wallace.   If you haven't watched you might be surprised,

Fox news, while far from my favorite seemed to always be at every hotel I ever stayed at.  Is that out now?

My buddy here in the USA does not subscribe to any packages, except You   toooob.   He is fine with getting news one day later.
