Manager reported on a story how locals in Cha-Am in Phetchaburi province hunted and found a Myanmar fisherman who had fled from a hospital with Covid-19.

On July 17th Nara Khongthong, 45, the owner of some rented rooms in Saphan Hin called in the Cha-Am police after one of his tenants had a high fever.

He said the man called Mia-mong, 46, refused to go and get tested.

The police took him away to Cha-Am Hospital where he was diagnosed with Covid.

However he then fled back to the Saphan Hin area.

For two days the locals hunted for him before finding him in other rooms with three of his compatriots. The owner of those rooms had been admitted for treatment himself and the Myanmar people had taken advantage of this fact to hide.

It took four or five days before a Department of Provincial Administration team and other officials comprising ten people arrived with an ambulance from Cha-Am hospital to take the Myanmar man off to the field hospital in Khao Yoi.

While there are plenty of selfish and irresponsible people during these times, I can understand the guy. Even if all his papers are in order, he's right to fear being taken to a place, kept there, charged more than he has for the privilege and maybe facing legal action afterwards.

Huh? This is Thailand, we don't do things proactively here.

And then send him back over the border I hope?

The future is tomorrow, 23 hrs too early to warrant consideration.

How so.  How many of Prayut's cabinet where in Phuket kicking around maskless with the Head of the Surin Chamber of Commerce who has Covid.

So maybe; maybe not.

But then again, the labs could jack the PCR CT to 50 for these 'dirty foreigners" if they want to send a message.   They could also drop the PCR cycle count for all those in contact with the Surin CoC head if they wish to show the genetic resilience of the Thai elite.

It kind of shows just how the narratives can be manipulated based on a non-standard 'diagnostic' test that can be tweaked.

because he suspected if he had covid ( which he does )   he would be sent back to Myanmar ......   which is a bad prospect for him.

He is lucky he did not head south to Hua Hin without a boredom vaccine.
