.

Working on my return to LOS. My retirement extension is valid through March 2022, and, yes, I have a reentry stamp.

Once I get out of ASQ (again) I'll be living in Trat.

However, I'd like to stay in BKK for a time; maybe a week or more.

But I understand Trat is not allowing non-residents in without proof of negative test, or vaccine. (No, I'm not taking the vaxx, and, no, I am not interested in your input in that personal decision.)

So my question is, how long is the "negative certificate," provided by the ASQ hospital, valid for post release from ASQ?

My guess is it's anybody's guess, and I could get to Trat the same day and get 180ed.

Whatever the rules at the current time, they could (more likely will) be different a month from now. If necessary, getting a fresh test in Bangkok should not be difficult. Right now, you can get free (antigen) tests in some locations.

Yeah, I know. But I'm not waiting until March. Looking at later this month.

I just came from Pattaya to Trad by taxi (2200 to Laem Ngop). First checkpoint Rayong/Chantaburi border. Passport, driving licence with my Trad address on it. Didn't ask for more. Friendly.

Second checkpoint Chantaburi/Trad border. Where you go, where you come from, why. Said I'm going home, have double jab certificate which they looked at, and away we went.

I think the RT-PCR test is valid for 72 hours. Don't think a RAT cuts it. A friend was given a pretty frosty welcome in a hotel just outside Trad. He has a house near me.

You can fill in the travel "permit" on line. Nobody asked to see it. I think it just logs your journey itinerary and dates. Maybe have the Morchana app running on your phone.

Mid August I think is the next review date for rules and regs.

Tell me you location when you are in Bangkok, and I will avoid you like a plaque if you're not going to be vax.

That is putting people off coming to Thailand because say if you were a returning expat in Phuket sandbox or ASQ hotel Bangkok and new rules  saying a lockdown came in , you could be stuck in a hotel at great expense and for how long ?

Quite so. Forewarned is forearmed. It happens to Brits a lot when the UK gov switch the country you're partying 24/7 in, and put it on the red list. All hell breaks loose as everyone heads for the airport. It could happen here. Thailand still on amber, but how long for? Not fear mongering, just being aware, that's all.
