Not really a serious issue but:-

Today makro didn't have our usual sliced "Farmhouse" brown bread (I know it's mass produced junk but we like it).

So I bought this "slices sandwich bread", guess what, it's not actually sliced, just marked on the top. Luckily Madam has a suitable machete to cut it up. Or maybe I could hollow it out and serve soup in it ????

I found that stuff dissolves to nothing ! It literally has no substance like blown air only good for feeding the fish at the Wat.

Get the 6 pk bread mate ! when its available.

No bacon at our local Makro.

One of my "lockdown food experiments" is home cured bacon. Only started today so have to wait a week before we know if it's actually worked.

I used to get back bacon from makro but it always came in frozen blocks which was a bit inconvenient.

Likewise the sausages.

I ordered on Makroclick for home delivery.  Ordered on the 1st.  They showed up on the 5th.  Only called about 15 minutes beforehand.  And then out of the 35 items I ordered they only had 16 of them.  We are still trying to get the rest or get a refund.  Called them again today and they said they will look into it and call us back.

Pretty sad service.

Interesting.

Sounds good.

It's good busy during these times.

Even better if it's cured bacon.

Every once in awhile when my wife sees on of those trucks hauling pigs she says she isn't going to eat pork any more.  But the next time she sees bacon she forgets all about that.

Farmer Jones got out of his car and while heading for his friend's door, noticed a pig with a wooden leg. His curiosity roused, he asked, "Fred, how'd that pig get him a wooden leg?"

"Well, Michael, that's a mighty special pig! A while back a wild boar attacked me while I was walking in the woods. That pig there came a runnin', went after that boar and chased him away. Saved my life!"

"And the boar tore up his leg?"

"No he was fine after that. But a bit later we had that fire. Started in the shed up against the barn. Well, that ole pig started squealin' like he was stuck, woke us up, and 'fore we got out here, the darn thing had herded the other animals out of the barn and saved 'em all!"

"So that's when he hurt his leg, huh, Fred?"

"No, Michael. He was a might winded, though. When my tractor hit a rock and rolled down the hill into the pond I was knocked clean out. When I came to, that pig had dove into the pond and dragged me out 'fore I drownded. Sure did save my life."

"And that was when he hurt his leg?"

"Oh no, he was fine. Cleaned him up, too."

"OK, Fred. So just tell me. How did he get the wooden leg?"

"Well", the farmer tells him, "A pig like that, you don't want to eat all at once!"

What’s the first line of the pig bible? “In the bacon-ing…”

What did the pig do when it came to a pork in the road? It pigged the road less travelled.

What do you call an imaginary pig? A pig-ment of your imagination.

What do pig’s use as soap? Hogwash.

I'll get my hat and coat... :cowboy:

Designed to confuse farangs. The Thai just says "sandwich bread" nothing about slices.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I buy four of these evey week, and they have all been sliced. Good for making toasted Club Sandwiches, which my partner sells to Thais. No complaints.

Of course it's benign, but calling a mod "childish" could be classed as "unwise" :whistling:

I think that the food factories lockdowns are starting to hurt...

Had a tough time fightinig the old blue haired Thai/Chinese ladies who were bulk buying all the pork ribs at Tops yesterday. Slipped my arm in between two of them and grabbed the last pack and the look of "death to all foreigners" was transmitted my way. One lady had about 10 packs in her cart already and was ready to throw down with me over one package....things are getting squirrely.
