webfact
Picture: Daily News A pick-up driver told the police that everything went blank as he drove three female friends along Laem Chabang Road in Khao Khan Song sub-district of Sriracha yesterday. The next thing Pongsakan, 27, knew was that his three friends were dead and that he had had a terrible accident. He was pictured at the scene hugging one of his friends in the wreckage of his Isuzu D-Max. The pick-up had collided with the back of a six wheel truck that was performing a U-Turn. The truck ended up on its side. The driver of the truck, Den, 44, said he was in the far left lane and was crossing the road to the far right to accomplish a U-turn when the accident happened. Dead inside the pick-up were Phanchanok, 22, in the front passenger seat, Phraewphan, 26 behind the driver and an unnamed woman about 25. They had been housemoving, said the driver. Both drivers were taken into Bowin police station to get to the truth of the matter with Daily News saying that Pongsakan was tested for alcohol. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2021-08-16 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow ASEAN NOW on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 11

Bloody narrow U-turns require that. There is no other chance than keeping your eyes wide open, ready to break when you see a U-turn sign. 25

Popular Post Gold Star
The Thai fascination with these deadly U-turns instead of turning at intersections is crazy. So many times, I have had to apply full brake to avoid someone pulling out in front of me starting a U-turn. Worse, are the large trailer trucks pulling out on a U-turn that think that their size gives them the right of way. In this case, it seems the truck must have tried a wide turn crossing in front of the Isuzu's path rather than starting the turn from the inside lane. Drive in a way that they are always trying to kill you here in every way possible, as your life here in reality is cheap and worthless. The carnage continues... 17
Popular Post itsari
Speed must of been high to manage that scale of damage . Really cant blame u turns . One drives to the condition of the roads at the time . There are warning signs that there are u turns ahead . Hard for the driver to live his life with any satisfaction after the death of his three friends .

Yes, but without seeing the U-turn as such it's difficult to say how much of an effort for a big truck is it at this point. I have seen many such maneuvers where a big (trailer) truck needs all lanes on both directions to do the turn. Of course there is a chance of negligence by the truck driver not checking approaching traffic carefully before passing the fast lane? WhiteBuffaloATM
worst worldwide road death stats. deriving from culture. literally little concept of a systematic rule-based safe defensive “complete focus” driving approach. asian fatalistic karma philosophy; only “now” matters; no loss prevention; never mind, will be reborn. Popular Post cardinalblue
Got, I see motorcyclists on their phones all the time while driving…probably worse in cars hidden from view by their illegal tinted windows… speed kills and my educated guess is the PU driver caused their deaths…when a semi makes a u turn, all the driver can come up with is he can’t remember - yeah b/c he wasn’t paying attention to situational awareness (at all times) and driving like he was the only one on the road…you see it every fricking day here 11

Just because you people have seen some guys do the wrong thing, deos not mean that all are doing it. Most of the drivers, both on MC and in cars are not!
