Thanks to all, even the punsters. And My wife and I are both new

Take everything you read in this thread with a grain of salt. Truth is covid has slowed things down  and the natives are bored and are having some fun on your expense.   Half the people responding could not find  Buriram in the map, though I had a vague idea where it is , I also had to look it up on google .

We are a bit north of you, in Khon Kaen, and things are kind of quiet because of covid. but still plenty to do  depending on your personality, I am sure the same is the case in Buriram. I have seen  Buriram mentioned in the Issan subforum a few times, so I am sure there are some expats living there , There is an Isaan FB group "expats in Isaan"  perhaps also posting there you might meet some of them.

I have met quite a few here in KKC but we mostly keep to ourselves and the family,  I am sure you do a bit of the same.

Anyway , good luck and welcome to Isaan.

There is a forum for Buriram Expats. Not as lively as this forum but it has some decent info (sometimes). Just check on the keywords I mentioned.

Have fun....
