wonder what the odds are of catching covid in a fairly deserted bar compared to travelling 8 hours in a packed train to a meatball festival ?

  • Come to Koh Samui for your holiday and get arrested for playing pool ????????

  • this is the face of foreign tourism in Thailand   we are open 1st Oct but everything is shut with curfews and other nonsense red tape and a spell in jail if you sniff a beer   Remi

This is all about extracting money out of people and not much to do with covid. They will milk this while they can.

Reminds me of Monopoly - don't pass go we collect 200 and you go to jail

Yippie Thailand Open but only for Chinese lemmings on a tour bus

Didn't know there was any such thing as Chinese Lemmings. Are they related to pandas?

Another wonderful PR exercise !

Come to Thailand - Look at our lovely beaches , eat our delicious food, enjoy our renowned hotel services -that’s it - time to go home

Hardened criminals, what is the world coming to. Playing pool and drinking beer !!

I guess it's better than snorting whisky and drinking cocaine. LoL.

Idiots studying to be morons, every one of them got top marks.

The RTP is doing his utmost best to ruin the tourism industry.. Now playing pool is not allowed after  darts, bridge and what will follow?? And than the stupid xenophobia about alcohol. Make normal laws or ban all alcohol in whole country..

But almost everyone is begging for tourists to come. First start to make normal lives with normal laws instead of these so called prevention laws for the youth or people

Time to reform and restructure the economy, make it much less dependent on tourism, focus on real education, value added industries.

Sadly the Thai authorities have this ridiculous idea that alcohol is the demon of Covid, Samui is supposed to be in a promoting tourism mode and yet we have this ban on alcohol in restaurants.   You can purchase any amount you wish at any supermarket, meet with friends and get stupidly drunk and yet you cannot have a couple of beers in a controlled situation with your meal. It is just hypocrisy  & stupidity meanwhile the majority of restaurants that have managed to stay open are operating at a loss hindered by the stupidity of the officials!!!

Now they arrest people playing pool, what next!!

Seems we are reading about people regularly breaking the rules on drinking alcohol

Most of us are aware of the rules but some  people still don't obey them

Why I don't know must have plenty of money to pay the fines

No doubt will be reading about others in the future doing the same

Uh Oh...I guess I should not be playing marbles, jacks and tik tak toe while drinking Kool Aid too...question are these alleged "felons" going to be subjected to the "3 plastic bagger interrogation" ???

This is just a glimpse of things to come as the LOS cozies up to the PRC...authoritarian and brutal control over the masses.

Why anyone would want to break the law in this country is beyond me.
While I might not agree with every law, I think it's important to remember that we are guests in this country and should abide by the regulations and laws that have been put into place.  By all means, have a drink at home and enjoy yourself with some music and a glass of wine, but don't go to bars that are illegally selling alcohol and then cry about being arrested.

Wondering, what the TAT boys are doing now.

The sandbox in Phuket still produces "positive" tests while the other box in Samui features arrests of pool players.

All the while there is a meatball festival going on in Buriram - with thousands of Thais roaming the place for whatever might be in these meatballs .........

They should have gone to 7-11. They could have bought as much alcohol as they wanted.

All across Thailand, restaurants and bars are openly selling alcohol in cardboad coffee cups. My local area in Bangkok is packed with drinkers every night. How could the Samui bar owner be so clueless as not to pay plod like everyone else? But in deserted Samui, maybe plod make bigger profits out of the fines.

The environmental cost of all these cardboard cups must be horrendous????

Was anyone arrested for simply playing pool?

No. ????

These people will return to their home countries and tell everyone don't go because the "sandbox" got turned into "mudbox" in a "<deleted>hole"

This would never happen in the USA . THIS IS A OUTRAGE!!!

Thailand has fumbled and dropped the ball so often on Tourism and the Virus, that it has now become embarassing, and they have had the cheek to lobby UK to be taken off the UK Red List!  The big problem is the lack of vaccinated Thai People and until they get that rolled out properly, and hopefully before the next surge of infected people, they are consistantly shooting themselves in the foot and the what is even sadder is no one, but no one is being held to account.  The Health Minister in the UK was recently replaced and the UK is way, way ahead of Thailand on their vaccination programme.  Unfortunately I can only describe their efforts as apathetic.

Why is it always a clueless selfish farang that is always photographed WITHOUT a mask. Not a care in the world.  “Put the damn mask on” so we can all get back to normality

When are they closing massage shops again?

Wasn't it, that only foot massage can be provided for maw 1 hour.

Each shop, customers going in but I never see anyone sitting at the ground floor, where they usually do the foot massage.

Naughty.
