Following reports in the Thai media the Children's and Women's Welfare Supervision Division moved to help a Thai woman allegedly held prisoner and attacked by her Egyptian husband.

Paphada claimed that she was imprisoned by her husband for two months and repeatedly tortured with hot coals and a knife.

Daily News - who called the man a sadist - reported that her husband thought she was dabbling in the occult.

He has denied everything.

Police however doubt this because of the extent of the victim's injuries.

She is being examined at the Police Hospital and the case is now being handled by the Klong Tan police.

The man was named as Wael Mohamed M.A. , 47, an auto parts dealer in Krung Thep Kreetha, south east of the Thai capital Bangkok.

Why do you think that will be of relevance? He's an Egyptian working in Thailand and she's a Thai.

Right, maybe she speaks Egyptian and can translate for the police ????

This was an absolutely horrible story. The poor young  girl came from France as an au pair to a family in London. She was mistreated for a good while, and certain neighbours knew about this. Anyhow, she went missing , and her family reported it to the police. They found a grave in the garden and the copule were brought to justice . The poor girl was 21 yr old Sophie Lionnet , burnt and buried in the garden.  In Malaysia, the maid was tortured by a very well known family, scared for life !

I think you mean in Arab and muslim circles.

But burning anyone with coals or toture is out of line anywhere.

Thai mother and daughter from a wealthy family, kept a Burmese house maid in a cage, just big enough for her to sit in, for 6 months. all the time pouring boiling hot water, ice water and hot oil over the poor girl. when she was found her skin had melted and stuck her arms to her chest and her legs together. now she didn't die is anyone guess.

So in spite of the wounds on his wife's body, he denied everything. So either someone else did it and he's a PoS for not protecting his wife. Or, he did it. Either way, throw the book at him.

Abuse should never be tolerated anywhere.

That's a shocking case of violation of privacy IMO. Though the man might be an animal if what is alleged is true, as of now it is only accusations,  What are they going to do if the accusations turn out not to be true, after having trashed the mans reputation and possibly damaged his business.?

did he weigh her against a duck ? if she weighed the same as a duck he could have a strong case in Thailand and it would just be a criticism of the speed of the burning....
