Are these ratings being done from Travelers who entered Thailand in 2021 or from the last time tourism was big in 2019.  I really do find articles like this to be disingenuous at best and wonder if TAT did not write to the magazine and say they had received X number of accolades on these places. Some of the hotels listed have been closed for awhile due to covid restrictions etc.

Amazing when everywhere was closed.

If we ever thought travel awards were scummy we now know 100%. In a world that was locked down how did they figure this?

They must've forgotten Nana hotel. "For its proximity to Nana plaza, the lovely girls on the parking lot just outside and the genuine smell of Bangkok in the wonderfull lobby"

Note Survey results may have included a disproportionate number of taxi drivers vs regular tourists

Conde Nast Traveler

Please excuse my ignorance but who the hell are Conde Nast? Personally I have never heard of them. According to Wikipedia:-

Condé Nast is a global mass media company founded in 1909 by Condé Montrose Nast, and owned by Advance Publications. Its headquarters are located at One World Trade Center in New York City and The Adelphi building in London. Wikipedia

Conde Nast is a travel magazine, "awarding" their advertisers mainly with faked top lists.

Always have been this way, but if wasn't sure before, the 2021 list is a proof, with Thailand literally been in full lockdown the 2nd year...yet ko kood, ko lanta, hua hin, Bangkok are prominent features....

Almost more hotels listed there the the total number of tourists TAT could produce for the sandbox!!

As churned out from old clippings and memories of times past.

We know, these ratings are far too subjective...For example, Time Out named the neighborhood of Nørrebro in Copenhagen as the most cool in the world, but, in my opinion, is just a <deleted>hole, nothing fancy about it.Even Sukhumvit soi 11 is better.

So, let's not get too excited about these ratings.

Trouble is, they give outlanders the impression Bangkok is not a crumbling, polluted ghost-town.

But it gives TAT and Thailand something to crow about.
