BANGKOK (NNT) - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) plans to come up with a private digital company to support the country’s digital transformation in the next 6 months. The key missions of this company are to develop digital infrastructure for tourism, create big data for the industry, and launch utility tokens under TAT Coin or non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that cannot be used for trading.

With a goal of generating approximately 2.4 trillion baht from high-spending travelers by 2023, TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn said the authority would be limited to a 40% share so it would not be considered a state enterprise. While another 40% share of ownership will be held by strategic partners in digital fields, and another 20% will be shared by key tourism associations.

With a status of being a private firm, the TAT governor said the firm can employ professional experts by offering high salaries and incentives which will be beneficial for its digital tourism.

According to Mr Yuthasak, there are few companies that have shown interest to venture into the project. He said the model of this company has a similar structure to the Thailand Longstay Company which offers privileges to long-stay guests.

time to close down all those TAT offices around the world, which were kept for nothing for the last 18 months.

Also thailand based employees can work from home, as they did for months from the beginning of the 3rd wave.

All this money can be used for read digital impact on tourism.

Another necessity is to fire all TAT top players to allow for new blood and new ideas.

This completely pointless venture is a boondoggle for syphoning off taxpayers' money in consulting expenses from fake overseas companies and other spurious costs.  It will need to be bailed out by the government just like the Thai Elite card company that had no excuse for losing money but was never investigated.

TAT Coin... That's it, I've had enough news for today! See you chaps tomorrow for another few laughs ????

Mmmmm... As usual we must set up a new company. Find the right guy to run it, so the money stays in the family. Normal procedure for a democratically elected government and government authorities is the lay it out for bidding. I am pretty sure there is already lot´s of private companies that have the resources,

An ex copper or military guy will probably run the company.  Stand by for a bit of corruption.  What's the pm's brother doing now? He likes to syphon off funds in to his personal account

So the TAT reprogrammed digital calculator gets a new home.

So in essence a state enterprise.

The private company should have foreign english speaking I.T. employees otherwise it is doomed from the outset.

This is where the new 500 THB Thailand entry fees goes

90 day report still broken. Two years.

What tourists pay in cryptocurrency and NFT???!!! People that come here are working and middle class. What a laff

Seems like they've finally come up with a rationale for that b500 cash tax at the airport. Oh..sorry, how cynical of me.

TAT Digital Transformation Program.
