Renting for 5 or 6 months

Featured Replies

I am looking to rent for less than a year in Pattaya or jomtien and have checked out places(small condo 35-45 metres) on renthub with some good monthly prices,  5-8000 baht. Unfortunately they all seem for a year . Any suggestions on finding places that do less than a year .  Thanks

Did you actually offer to sign a 6 month lease, or the advertisement says 12 months and you didn't bother negotiating?

You could easily do so by renting via airbnb. If prices are very low you could also just accept taking a loss on the deposit when leaving after 6 months already, it would still be relatively cheap regardless if just 5-8K a month.

It is part of the agreement, if the tenant choses to leave the contract before the end date, the land owner keeps the deposit.

They will keep the deposit anyway even after 12 months

Most rental postings say a year but you can certainly ask for a 5 or 6 month rental.  With covid I think you shouldn't have any trouble finding ones that will accept a shorter rental period.

OP,. It's an absolute renters market right now.

They may advertise 12 months but many will accept 6. Also, under no circumstances pay 2 months deposit as requested by most. 1 month tops, and the vast majority will agree to that.

There are also plenty of condo/hotels doing monthly rentals. Ktk royal residence just off Pattaya Klang are offering rooms for 10000. Nice place, and you'll get your deposit back with those type of places .

I rented only 2 months at Centara Avenue.

Big 1 bedroom apartments with swimming pool and fitness.

And it really was difficult finding a good place for short term renting in Pattaya.

Riviera has also good condos in Jomtien and Wongamat, but really small.
