Car Manufacturers offer dealers various incentive options through out the year

From a Manufacturers point of in a perfect world every vehicle that rolls off the production line is sold

but Manufacturers know there is going to various months of the year where that not possible so there will be times where the  Manufacturers will offer additional discounts to the dealer to buy those vehicles.

I have seen Dealers where In January, February,March they have leftover stock from the previous year often vehicles with no mileage and warranty has not been started.

In a ideally world the dealer will try and sell those vehicles at the same price as a vehicle that hasn't come off the production line yet

I have seen some major Brands not all of them but for example on vehicles that have a retail price of 1.2-1.3 million baht offer discount's upto 250,000 baht to sell their old stock

and it can be a cash only deal or finance deal.

Will they offer you such a deal when you walk into the showroom simple answer is No

and will every dealer offer you similar deals  simple answer No some dealers would have bought the unused stock and some wouldn't

Definitely no discounts in Thailand unless you're buying a car thats 3-4 years old.

Thats the hard truth in Thailand.

A few freebies and insurance for one year. If you're lucky.

Probably not even that with the lack of computer chips.

Unfortunately Thailand is one of the most expensive places in the world to buy a car, used it new.

If you pay cash you will get some freebies and a 1-year insurance, but most likely no price reduction. It's unusual in Thailand.

  • Don't know what it's like now buying cash.  I bought a Vigo years ago and it was 861,000 from memory walked into the dealership with the cash and they wouldn't even knock the odd 1000 baht.

Interesting.

I wouldn't want a Ford or Chevy though.
