Thai immigration online 90 day reporting system

This rather depends on whether Kanchanburi has changed its policy in 2024, in line with Bangkok Immigration and others, so that every time you return from abroad you must do a 90 days in person.

 

If you never leave Thailand this will not matter, but if you do, you are certainly not going to have 364 days trouble-free...

I'd always done it online. I got back to Jomtien from the UK in February and thought I had 90 days before my next registration. A few weeks later, my agent said I should have gone immediately to immigration to file. I don't know if that was right, but I paid him a small sum to go and sort that out. Now on the next renewal my online registration was rejected and said, go to immigration immediately. I've still got a few days left, but I can't be bothered to waste a bunch of time form filling/queing up/waiting and money on all the paper work. If it's not a big fee, I'd prefer to pay him to go. Although pretty pissed off about it.

 

However, if that comes up on my next online report as well, I'll certainly go down.

We're all trying to figure out the best way to do something that is absolutely pointless. Why should it be necessary to report, every 90 days, that you are still living at the same place that you have been living at for the past x years?! A sensible rule would be: Unless you have moved since your last report, we don't want to hear from you. And if you move, we want to hear from you within, say, 48 hours - or a week. To have to report every 90 days that you're still living in the same place is nothing more than a way to get money from people by making it difficult to do the reporting. This has ZERO to do with "national security" or any such thing. If you are a criminal, for example, then you're obviously not going to be doing your 90-day report.

 

Anyway, I guess I'll have to trudge all the way across the city (using three metro lines and a full day of my time) to visit the Chaeng Wattana Immigration Office - simply because I left the country since my last (online) report. Still, I will try to do it online just in case, starting 15 days before the due date, and if that is rejected, 14 days before, 13 days before, etc., until the due date - at which time I'll just go there in person. What a humiliating way to live.

Your 90 day report is due 90 days after your entry to Thailand (notification of a foreigner being in the Kingdom for 90 days). Maybe your agent was talking about your TM 30 notification (notification by the house master, of a foreigner residing at an address), which some Immigration offices require every time you return to Thailand after being abroad.

send your agent now or go in person, you have 7 days after your 90 day period after your last entry into Thailand in Feb otherwise a 2000baht fine

And the system still does not work. This means another 200 km roundtrip is due, wasting time and gasoline. Just because they cannot fix this simple error. And any complains at the Office will be greeted with a smile and "yes, I know". This is no fun.

And why does the 90 day report need to be "approved" anyway?  Wouldn't be that big a deal if it was just a reporting requirement.  Oh well, I know the answer more or less..... Best not to go down that rabbit hole.

That was my understanding too, but he did do 90 day in this instance. Thanks for confirming that was unnecessary.

Yes, that's what I was aiming for, but he didn't respond, so went myself. I will detail that experience separately, but suffice it to say, it was enough to ensure trying the online 15 days before to give me time for resubmissions and for my agent to respond, if needed. Never had problems before online. So hoping this is not my new normal. I am happy to pay to not waste  time on this asean phenomenon.

don't know what they are trying to achieve by making this in person simple task vastly more complicated, I can only assume it is spite as it makes no logical sense, my 12 month extension is easier - go figure

I have done my 90-day reporting online many times.... but this time I got rejected and at least this time IMM gave a reason but I have no idea what it means. Does someone know?  I entered Thailand from Myanmar within the last 90 days. Still, 1.5 weeks before the 90-days report is due.

 

For first-time requests of a 90-day notification in each country visit, in-person presentation at the immigration office is required.

From what I've read elsewhere it seems like you need to do your 1st 90 day report after re-entering Thailand in person/mail/via an agent

 

I'll find out for sure when my next 90 day is due (Got back to Thailand May 8th) - Have done the past 3-4 years online with no problems.

Thanks. Yes, I suspect you may be right. They try to cause us as much inconvenience as they can! I have never tried the mail-in option, though as their reason states, they require an in-person visit. What a waste of my time!

My latest online 90-day notification was just REJECTED by Chiang Mai immigration for the recent "screw the farangs" reason  "For first-time requests of a 90-day notification in each country visit, in-person presentation at the immigration office is required."

 

Will try to find the reasoning when visiting them.

I did my in person after our last trip knowing it was required....Now,I  tried online & was rejected on 2 attempts for Chiang Mai.....Each came back within 24 hours, so not much time lost.....Cruised through the drive up window with no queue - then off to the Dukes where we chowed down.....

Fortunately, immigration is only about half an hour's drive....

I'll try online next time and see if it wants to go through....This is the only time I've been rejected via online.....

It's likely that your coming online 90 day report after re-entering May 8 will be rejected, In their system your 90 day cycle count is still on from prior to your departure. Many offices want you to go in person after arrival state that you have left and returned to the same address - they will reset your 90 day to your new arrival date - should work online next time.

I don't think it's the break in the cycle so much as I've done trips outside of Thailand before & with the exception of the one time it was due at the same time as me moving address (Had to file TM30 & 90 day report) I've done them all online

 

This time I'm changing (UK) passport which will be fun 🙂

I have been using the online system since it changed to the current website without an issue. I pretty much have an automated system, I get alerts when it's time to report, I log on, I cut and paste my passport number, and use the auto-complete form, then press the "apply" button.

 

When I last collected my last extension, the immigration officer said to my wife "oh, might aswell do the 90 day as you are here" - I have never done a report at the office for 3 years.

 

My report date started two weeks prior to today, 31st July, and expires 7 days after. My extension is until the April 5th 2025, and I arrived to Thailand in 2020.

 

I filed my application, and today, received an email saying my information was not valid .. how can the info be incorrect on an auto-complete form, where I only need to change the date of the visa expiry once a year ?

 

What's next? I don't really want to go back down to immigration office because the same thing might happen next time I try to do a digital report. I have filed another online report - it's pretty poor that the application can be dismissed without any explanation that the info is incorrect.

 

Has anyone else experienced this?

If your extension runs until April 5th 2025 you must have renewed it either on or before April 5th this year which is ~ 118 days ago.

I mainly agree, but some offices do the 90 day report when you get an extension, and this poster specifically says that his 90 day report was done when he went to pick up his extension.

I didnt mention when I picked it up.

 

The slip in the passport clearly states that the next 90 day report needs to be done on 31st July. Irrelevant of when my visa expires or was issued, this is the day I need to report and the last report was filed 90 days prior. I just mentioned the data of expiration, because it could be relevant.

 

The point is, I have never had a problem with the online system, and it was never needed to file a 90 day on the day that I picked up the extension for the past 3-4 years, but this year without asking, the IO took it upon himself to process a document that the applicant applies for, not the IO and now there is an issue. There was no reason to file a new 90 day report as the previous years reporting period was still valid.

 

The answer is from @Will B Good .. Have anyone else had this problem before? yes, and he sent the same form via post and was accepted. I reapplied last night and at 9:30 am received a response telling me to report to the local office. I dont expect any issues, im sure they will accept my submission without any comment, I won't even bother to ask them to explain.
