Pala-U waterfall will reopen to tourists on December 25, officials from Kaeng Krachan National Park have announced.

The waterfall, which had been closed due for safety reasons due to the ongoing pandemic, will reopen on Christmas Day.

This week, staff from Kaeng Krachan National Park have been readying areas near the waterfall ahead of its reopening.

Unbelievable that it's been closed all this time. Due to the almost non-existent tourism I'd bet that they would have been lucky to get more than a handful of foreign visitors per day. Maybe more Thai tourists but not many. Plenty of room for distancing (as in all national parks) outdoors and virtually zero chance of Covid-19 transmission especially with masks wearing enforced. More risk from snakes, bugs and microbes IMO. It is a very nice place to visit and worth the effort to go to the top tier of the falls and swim in the lagoons.

Went there in November 2018 and had the place to myself. Right on the border with Myanmar (Burma).
