Awesome that he is alive.

Not sure how "well" he is though given the partying, loss of employment, gambling and the thai partner.

So he has spent the time productively, Thai style !!!

go back to Pattaya where you belong mate

Do not send him here - Pattaya has enough issues with the economy down the toilet for now nearly two years.

Danish citizen Carl D. who went missing in Phuket in December 2015 is now no longer missing. The joint office of  the Nordic police forces in Bangkok informs ScandAsia that Carl has been located and is alive and well.

So that would mean immigration records would have had his location for the last six years?

Presuming he did not make an Extension, 90 day  report, TM30, nor leave and re-enter Thailand legally, no, they would not,

Only Pattaya has issues after a 2 year lockdown?

Why would you assume that?

I'm totally legit with immigration, and nobody in the UK has found me either.

If only I had a $1 for every-time I heard this type of story.

I won't be able to sleep  nights now wondering where he  was found ????

Was it in Thailand or Denmark????

Are they looking?

The question related to immigration records!

What's the Christmas dinner menu in the IDC ? I hope they don't leave out the figgy pudding

My comment was tongue in cheek.

The details will all come out when he publishes his new book "Missing in Thailand"

Plenty of work to keep the armchair detectives busy for a while:

The Liaison office will not comment on where Carl was located or what further action the discovery of him would entail. If he was located in Thailand, it is likely that he has been overstaying and he will therefore be deported back to Denmark.
It is also unclear exactly what motive Carl had to disappear, where he has been all these years and what he has been doing. It seems however apparent that he wished to remain cut off from his former life.

Bit selfish really - could he not have let just ONE person in his homeland know that he was OK?

So he is a fraud that faked his disappearance.

How do you come to that conclusion? He didn't fake anything. Not like a UK MP a few decades ago who left his clothes on a beach to fake a disappearance. This person did nothing remotely like that. He simply disappeared from those he had previously been in contact with. As the article says, It seems however apparent that he wished to remain cut off from his former life.

Possibly he applied for a new passport, having left his old one behind and that might have lead to the Nordic police tracking him down. Possibly.

At least, the Nordic countries care about their citizens abroad.

He's probably got some unpaid parking tickets or something and the deadline for paying them is near.

So does he take the wife back to Denmark? He won't be allowed back in Thailand for a while.

This looks like the guy who opened a shop in Pu Kradeung mountain in Loeie. It wasn't a success as it is a cutthroat business and the steaks were too high.

Parties, no work, Thai girl... I thought that's what they meant by 'he is well'.

from the article:

" ...been contacted by Sirikanya who was asking for money claiming that she was together with Carl, and that they were in dire need of them. The last of these messages from Sirikanya came no later than a month ago."

"It seems however apparent that he wished to remain cut off from his former life."

Sure, wants to be cut off from his former life by continuously asking for money from his former boss,... duh.

Thailand is a great place to disappear.

It's probably not the best place to take off without paying your debts though. If you they catch you, they probably won't be taking you to court.

Lost & Found.

Good news he is alive and well. He’s done well to evade everyone for all that time. Sounds like heaven.

Sign of the times of internet brides. I remember when it was only adventurous hippies that came here.

I met some hippies in Udorn Thailand back in 1972-1973.   They were a bit strange.
The youngest was 14 years old!  He went to Thailand with his parents for vacation.  When it was time to return to the U.S. of A., he wanted to stay in Thailand and his parents let him.  They just left him there.  They did send him money though.
