Famously a couple of years ago a police chief in central Thailand said there was no prostitution.

And Prayut said he was going to stop corruption...

both seem to be holding their own... excuse the pun.

Establishments breaking the law would face prosecution, closure and the removal of licences.

The latter if applicable.

Nice that she goes jogging with you... just for fitness & company lol????

Now if they close nana or cowboy then you know it's serious and not just a sound bite

Well we all know how good they are at predicting how much a farang will spend on holiday , but can they predict how much they would lose in indirect or direct revenue if the Nanaphiles didn't come !

Sad, but so true! Unfortunately, "picking on the weakest, poorest and most defenseless members of society" is what happens world-wide, not only in Thailand! Millions go hungry, live on the streets, can't afford healthcare, etc., yet some (private citizens) can spend multi-millions to go into space for a few minutes!

After tourism, they now want to kill their second best product. Who then take care of all the single mothers who have been abandoned by their Thai husbands without any financial support?

More bribes and brown envelopes . RTP need a top up.

Pathetic is the only word to use for this nonsense.  Its been tried for millennium and none will ever succeed to eradicate it.  They would, be better employed doing their proper job and making a positive contribution to Thai society, instead of spouting this kind of nonsense.

What are the bars and go go clubs in Pattaya going to do its 90% of their business ????

It's what the SexPat Tourists come to Thailand for ????

The other 10 %  go on tours and enjoy the scenery plus beaches ????

The business of the BIB must be really bad if they have to chase after the individual prostitutes, many of whom no longer have a chance to do a normal job in society. And how stupid is that? that they have to set up a tip hotline for this.

Well there goes tourism.  And it’s going to effect some expats having the desire to move here.

Well 50 police went looking for prostitution in Pattaya a couple of years ago and declared there was no evidence of it.  I doubt there'll find any this time either.

There is prostitution in almost every country in the world and LOS is no different, I guess perhaps its just a little more prevalent here than some countries. What difference does it make, its just a fact of life and it keeps food on the table for many!!

What does this mean for this guy’s mistresses?

I sincerely hope that the authority is serious in cracking down on open prostitution. Thailand has to change its image as a sex haven. The massage palours with the viewing gallery of prostitutes, the sex performance at go-go bars and the open bars with hookers chasing after customers got to go. It will be foolhardy to expect prostitution to be eliminated but clearing them from openly displaying and selling their assets will be a positive step. Like in Singapore, prostitution in itself is not illegal but various prostitution-related activities are criminalized like public solicitation, maintaining a brothel and living on the earnings of a prostitute and also those who are caught soliciting sexual services. There are many tourists who are turned off seeing open prostitution in Thailand. Cracking down will in fact increase the number of quality tourists.

First the government must begin by changing the absurd educational system so that in future generations the population can be better prepared professionally to have decent and paid jobs.  Education, education, education.

How is that going for Japan? Education should be improved regardless, but there's a bit more to it.

Wasn't that 4-5 years ago, in Nataree Massage Parlor, where the lists of names were found with all the bribes and freebies, which police station received how many and much each time?

Of course ! A government with trained men and women? Equality?  transparency? a smart investment plan looking to the future?  An economic project? A social protect?

A ethic pension?

This is a Bananera Lalaland
Nothing will be doable with those old generals.
