No wonder they don't find so many positive cases. https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/full-list-total-tests-for-covid-19?country=THA~DNK Edit. And the daily numbers just arrived in DK. 189512 PCR tests done yesterday. 23228 positive cases which is record high daily number, but also high amount of tests are done, so test and you shall find. If Thailand were to test as many people per 1000 population, that would be approx 2 million tests. Imagine the numbers in Thailand if they tested 2 million Thais in a day. There have been a few of them have got Covid and publicly regretted their former stances (you'd need to search if you're interested to find them) but sadly most of them are too blinded to see the real truth. Cherrytreeview
Honestly, i think omicron may come and go in Thailand within a few months. Like the first wave, there maybe very little major issues and lack of testing will not scare the population. Just depends on how reactive the Thai government are. No different than any other government globally.

Popular Post Midwit
7 hours ago, Sheryl said: The issue for the UK is the impact on health services. Although hospitalizations with Omicron are shorter in duration and less often lead to death, the numbers of hospitalizations are rising so rapidly that the system could soon reach or exceed capacity. At the same time, staffing levels are affected by large numbers of medical personnel themselves falling ill. There is a genuine need to try to slow down the rate of spread in the UK at this point to ensure that the system can handle it and people in need of health services (for all illnesses) don't lack access. Slow down the rate, not halt the spread - the second is impossible. The UK health care system has had 2 years to prepare. They are at risk of being over ran if a bus crashes with 19 people injured. Just 2 more weeks to slow the spread. 2

Australian cases nearly doubled over night but hospital admissions only up slightly and ICU and ventilator case were down marginally. If Thailand follows a trajectory similar to Australia then their health system will cope It's certainly looking hopeful but you need to include hospital workers who aren't working due to Covid and isolating as that will have an effect on hospitals being able to cope. Reducing the isolation period seems to be an option and would help if it's safe. Tourism is a bit more difficult as any length of quarantine is going to effect arrivals. Hopefully the measures being taken now will have an effect quickly.

It's the "one-size for all" approach that is (IMO) damaging. because someone who is infected but asymptomatic can still infect others, hence more burden on the medical systems and even the risk (even if it is smaller these days) of more deaths. simple! Granted - but in UK where people, including the others you mention, are vaccinated it must be time to start taking the minimal risk, because basically, if you're vaccinated testing positive doesn't matter that much. Its when you come into contact with UNvaccinated people that problems arise. And as I've said many times they deserve no consideration. 2
