Been told no wheelchair rental in Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

I believe some of the Pharmacy places - like Pharma Choice (but not BOOTS) rent them out!

Very cheap to buy also compared to the west. Look around - you will see pharmacies beside 7/11 selling them.

On Suthep Road across from Suan Dok hospital and a bit further west is a PharmaChaice which sells and hires them.

Another PharmaChoice on highway 118 heading north also sells them - good choice and fair prices but not sure about rentals.

A inflammatory post and the expected reply to it has been removed.

Here's a reasonably priced easy to fold and travel with wheel chair.

Probably be the same price as renting, if there was a rental.

Planes also don't count that as luggage.

I bought one on Lazada….check them out, pretty cheap, and delivered in a box on the back of a motorbike.

It would be a publicity nightmare for any airline that charged for transporting a wheelchair. Used to give them away in foreign countries for free, so we would have friends take them on the plane for us…..transported many like that.

You'd need to ride on the back of a Boston-Dynamic's Robot to be able to navigate Chiang Mai "sidewalks."  A wheel-chair.  Ain't happening.  It's dangerous enough if you have two functional legs.
