Popular Post webfact
The Speaker of Thailand’s House of Representatives, Chuan Leekpai, has complained about opposition MPs playing games in parliament, causing House meetings to be abruptly suspended due to the lack of a quorum. While admitting that the tactic has been used before by the opposition, to get back at the government, he said that he feels that it was used too frequently in the past month, to the extent that the image of parliament as a whole may be tainted. He observed that the problem usually occurred in the evening, as some MPs left the chamber in the middle of a House meeting or those who were present deliberately declined to declare their presence by refusing to insert their ID cards. Popular Post spidermike007
The Speaker of Thailand’s House of Representatives, Chuan Leekpai has no right to complain about anything. He is a sold out, thuggish soul, working as a shrill for an administration without a shred of integrity, credibility, or capability. The least the opposition can do is to create issues, distractions, objections and a lack of a quorum. It is called civil disobedience in the face of horrific, morally bankrupt, Juraissic era leadership. Or lack thereof. Scott Tracy
Grow up, Mr Speaker. This is politics, what do you expect? It's all a game to those who play. You played it and continue to do so. As for the fear of tainting Parliament... Too late to concern yourself with that.
BangkokReady
The parliament are the people and the people are the parliament. It's simply a microcosm of Thai society. Sounds the same as most schools, universities and workplaces. It's quite puzzling how there is this recent trend of expecting just the government to behave in a uniquely un-Thai way. Andycoops
The parliament was tainted the moment it was taken over by the corrupt, unelected by force who then went onto rig a constitution in their favour and copied the vile Tatmadaw next door by reserving 250 seats that would vote in their favour. Come what may.
