Former Democrat MP for Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thepthai Senpong, has come to the defence of Dr. Suchatvee Suwansawat, the Democrat party’s Bangkok gubernatorial candidate, after the House committee on prevention and suppression of corruption said it plans to invite Suchatvee for questioning about his wealth.

 

Thepthai said today that the move by the House committee, headed by Thai Liberal Party Leader Seripisut Temiyavet, is suspicious and may be unfair to Suchatvee, who is an “outsider”.

 

He said that the organisation most appropriate in conducting the probe is the National Anti-Corruption Commission, which is an independent agency.

Instead of "investigating" those with declared wealth who can obviously "afford" to be a "Politician" I would be wanting to investigate the "squecky clean" ones who have no means of support but stll lead the lavish "Hi So" lifestyle.

This agency is and has been doing a great job! 2 ????????

NAAC are as independent as every other commission in Thailand; all their verdicts are tainted with the smell of baht.

If that House committee is going to investigate this guy’s wealth, I would suggest a probe into other ‘suspects’ as well, like Prayuth and Prawith, and there are plenty more prime candidates. Dear Leader always throws a hissy fit when he’s asked about his wealth, so I’m quite sure there is something fishy to discover there.

Yet nothing is done about un-usually wealthy generals.  Least we forget;

Ooops! Sorry, I misread the OP and It's about the Democrat Party, not PTP. In this case, It's not so surprising that Dems trust the NACC. They may have friends there.

But most posters spent their lives in a 'country' whose borders extended from their house to work and to the bar.

Stand up and salute the flag, gobble down all the 'news' the Gov't feeds them.

In such a situation their understanding of the 'ways of the world' would come with blinders attached.
