The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) will not impose any additional measures amid rising COVID-19 infections, but will strictly enforce the existing restrictions in the light of surging infections, mostly by the Omicron variant, CCSA Assistant Spokesperson Dr. Apisamai Srirangsan said today (Monday).

She said that they had taken into consideration all aspects of COVID-19, including the number of infections and the death toll, tourism, public concern about the prospect of yet another lockdown and livelihoods, before arriving at the decision not to introduce any additional restrictions and not to suspend the “Test and Go” program.

She also asked senior medical professionals not to make comments about the pandemic in a way which may cause public confusion or anxiety and to clearly state that any comments they do make are their personal opinions and not those of their organisations.

Because that is purely the remit of government officials... no ?? :whistling:

But really, isn’t this comment nearly two years too late ?????

So the fifth day PCR test remains in place. And the streets will remain about as quiet as you're ever going to see them.

The new Test-Wait-Maybe-Go-Hospital-With-2-Rolls-Of-The-Dice program is a disaster anyway.

They make it sound they are doing people a favour.

UK will be pronouncing covid endemic this afternoon, meanwhile this bunch ... shut schools and rob children of even the barest of educations and line the local village money lenders pockets.

Mrs baboon came home tonight telling me full lockdown is imminent. Sounds like bovine excrement to me, but she did seem convinced.

Mind you she was at the wrong end of a bottle. Do any other posters have any anecdotal evidence?

yes Thailand is No1 in the world "YOU CLAIM" .........................by what measure ?

The Thai people are very angry they are not as stupid as you might like to think,  this circus continues in Thailand while countries across the world are dumping restrictions - it is not going unnoticed

Hell hath no fury like a Thai people scorned - we have had enough of this ##

you mean don't tell the truth or you will be silenced

Thank god people here can get access to foreign press and data and see for themselves exactly what is going on with covid outside Thailand

all IMO of course 555

Interestingly enough...for the first time ever....there was a police officer trolling Central Westgate mall yesterday telling people to put on their masks. He adminished a group of high school girls sitting in one of the common areas. New initiative I guess.

What restrictions?

As far as I can see apart from 11pm closing and a few entertainment venues still closed you can do what you like?

Only resort streets, go to any Thai town and it's bustling as normal.

Only a cynic would think the intention to bankrupt them so large business groups can pick them up cheap.

Good luck with that, getting teenagers to observe mask discipline and social distancing would be like herding cats.

It's all BS anyway, those schoolgirls probably crammed themselves into a songthaew after they left the mall.

"Strict enforcement"

What a laugh. Change batteries in temp check sensor. Refill sanitizer gel. Pull up that mask.

There's no going back. Press on is the order of the day.

They could off-loading corpses at BKK, Test&Go/thailand Pass will not be eliminated. In fact it will be further streamlined, no need mucking up the thai healthcare system with ferners testing positive on day 5.

Not a hint that the now or not so new is almost spread all over the country once thats the case lockdowns or restrictions dont work over time because of "fatigue"...

Somebody likes the strict enforcement aka "control" and just can give it up.

On the news wires its raised it alert level from 3 to 4

Come on you protesters, warn this lot of money grabbing Junta leeches you are coming for them, all that black dye is heating up on their hair and running down their faces right now thinking about it. Only downside is they are going to keep the restrictions going as long as they can. ????????
