So long as all Russians are banned and listed as a terroist organisation, murdering bar stewards, the lifitng of all restrictions will be welcomed by the civilised world.

Barring maybe a test before leaving, just scrap it all now. Doesn’t make a difference if a few slip through the net. Pointless really since the thing is already running rampant locally.

Indeed. To me, scrapping all restrictions means getting off the plane, having your passport stamped, picking up your bag from the carousel and off you go, not having to justify your existence 15 times beforehand. I don't see those halcyon days returning for quite some time to come if ever.

Like it is said until it happens I take what these guys say with a grain of salt and that is being very generous. It is only Feb " Sometimes this year "  I heard that before especially in regards to the GoGos based on our self proclaim PM Anutin " Covid is no match for Thailand medical system " if he had did his job it would have ended long ago do they even understand the meaning of end?

That's great!  You would be surprised how many fools aren't vaccinated here.

Fully vaccinated and boosted people have nothing to fear from omicron.  Those that aren't fully vaccinated I really don't care about in any way / shape / or form unless they can't get a shot.  I'm done with this pandemic and life is great.

On March 1st our mask mandates, isolation rules, etc. are all gone.  We are going to be fully open very shortly with no restrictions whatsoever except for travellers who aren't fully vaccinated.  They can stay home.

Tell that djokovic

Who knows what they are thinking tomorrow they might change their mine again. They must be very hungry for the tourist dollars.

Sure hope so, I need go back to Uk for 24 hours in March next year, and I really do not want the hassle for just 1 day out !

You’re fretting about entry restrictions in 13 months time ?? There might not even be a Europe! ????

Not just for tourists.  So many expats here want to go back to see family and friends—but don’t want problems upon return.

In recent days, the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) has revised its projection for foreign tourists this year from 5 million to 5.5

A far cry from the 40 million prior to Covid.

It's not a joke, it's a weaker variant. You can't blame anyone for taking caution for something that previously put the earth in a world of hurt (literally). We're now coming to terms with it and taking it for what it's worth, opening borders and lessening requirements. The Spanish flu was never vanquished, it merely morphed into something that didn't kill its host.

Bleeding heart.  It's over. Omicron is weak.

Sorry, agree that it’s a joke in addition to being a continuation of the giant hoax that just gives autocrats an excuse to line their own pockets by decree and mandate. Emergency, my aching butt!

Realistically even when all restrictions withdrawn which should happen sooner rather than later tourism will not return to prepandenic levels. There is also the problem of Putin's aggression which at the very least will swell inflation and ability of people to travel economically.

Nothing like a massive amount of egg on the face, a failed test & go program, skyrocketing unemployment and suicides, and a collapsing economy to bring these arrogant goons to their senses.

Will tourism recover? Or has it been irrevocably and permanently damaged? Time will tell. I think the latter.

It is about time to end the extreme cowardice and timidity. This is good for the people, and long overdue.

He means you will only need to carry half a kilo of paper to enter ????

You mean I have wasted my money on a new case for nothing????. One good side to that, I could give all that paper to Immigration so they can use the blank side,

Pretty sure there is a bat in a white lab cote cooking up a surprise somewhere out there.

Does all really mean all?

No USD $25k Covid-19 insurance compared to recently reduced USD $50k?

You can't believe anything they say! Their definition of 'open' includes 2 days hotel quarantine and 2 tests. Who knows how they will interpret this latest version.

You will be seeing this more and more as the pandemic is declared over.  Just give it time.

Omicron is a total joke.  A total utter joke.

Not quite a total joke, as long as everything is based on "cases"... ????

When it’s considered an endemic.  That’s how it should be.

Yes most here on Thai visa would agree the sooner the better

It's a Positive step forward ????

Reported next to an item recording a record nos of infections. Expect full lockdowns soon!
