A Thai woman who got lucky winning nearly two million baht in online gambling soon didn't feel quite so lucky.

 

She alleges that a group of burly men claiming to be "cyber cops" extorted 400,000 baht from her, her husband and their 11 year old child after they were questioned.

Now well known lawyer "Thanai Tam" is involved saying that their office will be demanding answers from the head of the cyber police, reported Manager.

On a more serious note, how did these "cyber cops" know she had won the jackpot? Did she plaster the news all over social media and lure these guys? Something doesn't smell right here. 

Know a woman here (friend of a friend) who won 85k a year or two ago. As soon as she "shared" the good news on FB, various family members came crawling out of the woodwork with sob stories and hands stretched out. Every penny was gone by the end of the same day. Sometimes it's better to fly low under the radar.

Isn't online gambling illegal? Maybe "give us a cut or well arrest you"? And "and well bash you and your kid" for good measure?

Well I am shocked and appalled that the RTP with such a gleaming reputation of honesty and up holding the law without any bias to themselves could be accused of such a thing. I mean cases like this of the police extorting anything in any form are just unheard of right!
