I once got a slight dose from Beach food, but to be honest the worst cases came from Indian places in Thailand!

No doubt the rascals are/were cutting corners.....!!.....................and I gotta say, as an experienced f&b operator.............., many customers like to point the finger when the actual issue is invariably a third party or other cause......................................I had one customer who admitted to me finally that it was his viagra that had caused his upset and not his sandwich......................you couldn't make it up!!

Wrong! Best place I used to go to opened at 6pm. Closed at 11pm.

I am happy you found an evening place, but please dont be saying wrong. Here is a food review of kau man gai and khao soi up in Chiang Rain and Chiang Mai.

And since khao man gai is typically a breakfast meal and khao soi is usually eaten at lunch, we suggest just sticking around all morning so you can eat both meals here and judge for yourself.

I would never eat Moo Katta, the quality of ingredients tends to be too low. The vegetables are bought near the spoil date and served quickly and the cuts of meats and seafood are of the lowest quality that can be bought due to the fact is usually sliced so thin they can get away with it.

Yes when travelling I eat street food in street stalls all the time. Not so much in BKK anymore as we do most of the cooking at home, and pack lunches when going to work.

Nonsense.....

Wow...you found a food review on the Internet ????

AN evening place? Ignoring that I mentioned three and there are many more.

Try to not be so ridiculous; this is the Pattaya forum, not a Chiang Rain(sic) or Chiang Mai forum.

One of my favourites would have to be Khaow Pat Gai. (fried rice & chicken)
It helps cure a hangover as well as being filling first thing in the morning.????

Watching it being cooked in a wok at a super-high-temp gives me that hygiene confidence.

Also being a great fan of Thai chillies I cover the dish with the ubiquitous Prik Nam Pla. (chopped chillis in fish sauce)
The spicy flavour on my tongue has a great reaction with hot black coffee.

IMHO the best Pattaya street eats are next to where the night-life girls sleep.... you can enjoy eye candy for desert.

Oh I am so sorry you must be right. Kau Man Gai is generally an evening dish. I guess old hands like you can really put young newbies like me in our place.   ????  Do me one favor though, walk through any Thai town before 9am and see what is being served.

Any Thai town? So Pattaya doesn't count?

You don't quite appear to have attained adulthood. ???? Come back for a conversation when you do.

In my experience, specialist Cow man gai restaurants across the kingdom are open fairly early morning and sell out around 3pm, with lunchtime being by far their busiest time....................I'm sure there are some exceptions of course..................................regarding Chiang Mai, sorry, I'm not familiar with Pattaya,  (I know, I know, just couldn't help myself!) but the side street next to 3 Kings monument is where the best specialist cow man gai restaurants are located IMO............................................................

Any area selling at all. Kau Man Gai is more of a morning to mid day meal. When the chicken is gone they go home. Now Kau Mok the yellow rice is served later in the day as well..

KAO MAN GAI has never been a morning dish, it's an afternoon / evening dish.

Most places open only in afternoon and close when chicken is finished.

There is not best anything, it's just idiots who comment this way.

But 2 good Khao man guy around pattaya are the most famous one in front of Tukcom and the one on top of Pratamnak soi 5.

And they are good with reason, rice really cooked in chicken fat, not good because one of those idiots said that it's good without any specific reason.

Khao man gai is terrible at any mall, they all reuse the past day chicken... especially bigC.

If chicken is not hung before you, do not eat !

At least you give reasons why something is good or not, unlike all those ridiculous review telling "BEST OF" when they don't even know how it should be cooked.

The main difference between this Chinese origin chicken rice as found in Thailand and Singapore is that its usually much much better in Singapore.

why is it so much better please ?

is it just a general statement as all your food reviews ? or you have some real objective reasons to tell this ?

There is clearly a large gap in what we consider to be good Khao Man Gai.

The best chicken comes from when the chicken is cooked in front of you. More tender and juicy.

For this reason I used to eat it regularly at a stall opposite the Pattaya Tai market. She would boil the chicken on the spot. So even precooked hung chicken can be unacceptably dry. But each to their own.

Then the sauce provided can vary. It's not just about the rice and it isn't just about the chicken.

Should street food be crud? It should not be unusual to discuss what makes a particular preparation better than another. Have you ever visited a Michelin starred restaurant or even cooked for yourself? ???? What was great about the kebab?  ????  Good that you are happy. Why not leave others to be happy too? It's restaurant.

Street food is a lot healthier Mu Kata that is for sure. We mostly eat street food when travelling and I let the wife pick the joint. As I said we avoid Isaan food other than the barbecue. We were just in Trat, Chantaburi and Koh Kut. Great Hoy Jah, Kau Phat Pu, and various types of Kway Teow.  Its always great.

The Arunothai place open from around 4pm. I haven't been there for ages but should be open or just go to Big C Extra food court.

Most street food places will do Khao man gai daytime, a couple other places on Soi New Plaza near buakhao or Buakhao 2nd hand market, food left side as you go in from Buakhao

I couldn't find it this week
