Here we go. Another paper road block. Came back after 6 yrs.

4 hrs to fill out the Thai pass. Now a new pass. Guess what, ounce I got passed the little lady's before immigration. Nobody including immigration,customs, police whatever asked for papers, including a internal flight

They should require visitors to wear "amulets" one can never be safe enough... But it can be purchased on arrival so no problem.

So they want 2 shots plus a booster for entry. Why would anyone be forced to have a booster when a totally unvaccinated person can enter Thailand with just a negative PCR test within 72 hours of flight (no quarantine)

 

Takes away all the worry about length of time since shots as well so I'll just say I'm unvaccinated

The guy just can't let go of the insurance can someone cue him in that the MP for tourism and sports the cabinet already passed another surcharge for health insurance and tourism promotion to be added to tickets. Maybe he didn't get the memo as to his own personal cut????

You would have to show me where it says anything about "Fully vaccinated".

Answering my own question....it is the yellow card/booklet that was all the rage last year....apparently.

I've had such a booklet for years. It contains all my vaccinations except my thai covid vaccinations: they had never seen such a booklet and refused to enter the data. Useful indeed, anywhere but in Thailand

I'm not sure what you're talking about.  Vaccines have been shown to reduce the chance of catching the virus, reduce the symptoms and reduce the chance of dying.

Certainly won't be immigration. Every chance the Disease Control Officer will remain in place at the airport to check vaccination status and they may well check insurance.

Highly likely that airlines will also ask to see but that would be up to the airline.

Hopefully this information will help to set your mind at ease about vaccines being the possible cause.  It may in fact be the opposite - vaccines may be a preventative cure, though it's too early to know if the outbreak has anything to do with Covid at all.  But that is something they are considering...

Latest article I saw this morning suggests lack of exposure to common virus due to the pandemic could be the problem.

 

The UK Health Agency’s lead investigator into the rise in cases, Dr Meera Chand, said that lockdown restrictions preventing young children being exposed to the virus could be a factor in why it is hitting them the hardest.

 

She said there was a “susceptibility factor – so lack of prior exposure of that particular age group during the formative stages that they’ve gone through during the pandemic”.

What are you talking about?  There were clinical trials before the vaccines were used and there is "real world data" that shows they are having a positive effect and protecting people from the covid viruses.

Yeah, you're right.  It's a bit nonsensical.  They should simply require everyone to be vaccinated.  Problem solved.

We change a few things to attrac tourists and we implement other things so they stay away or are getting more difficulties to enter...and later they will introduce the 300 entrance fee and than they are wondering why the tourists avoid Thailand..My advice is if they don't know how to handle the situation,  hire some experts from western countries to set up the tourism industry again

Nonsense, the vaccines protect may be again hospitalizations and die but not again contamination, my friend in BKK,3x +1 booster and infected now, using a treatment is 10x better, and people with comorbidities will go to hospitals and will die from their health condition and Sars-Cov 2 will accelerate the death process.Is it so difficult to educate the people, they are so much ultracrepidarians.

Anytime I hear or read about insurance my gastric ulcer becomes more and more a reality. In the old lovable sympathetic Thailand that I knew since 1975 there were no such thing and no associated problems and everything did not only work well but it was attractive to everyone until some sort of bureaucrats took over the management only to get things into the mess we all feel. There would be the need to turn back time or - to begin with - just scrap insurance(s) alltogether.

I had Covid (Delta) May 2021. Got my vaccine doses in July/August. And just got my booster last weekend. It was pretty awful. My hyper immune system knows what this virus is. It kicked its ass once, and my ass 3 times now having to introduce a dead version of it. I'm not against vaccines, but they're a bit too obsessive over this. I just hope they don't really mean getting the yellow passport. That sounds like a lot of work. I'm much more concerned about Typhoid Fever. Thailand has given me that 3 times now. Now that's a SERIOUS illness!
