Register car in wifes name, licence needed?

Featured Replies

It says on their website:TAT required document for new owner.
1. National ID Card
2. Copy of House register
3. Driving license

She dont have a driving licence.. Will it be a problem to put in her name at the office?

Seems the registered owner must have a licence to drive. If you have a licence, put it in your name...

Agree, no licence needed (but roolz can vary office to office).

Madam "owns" both our vehicles, never had a licence.

I've seen her driving a shopping cart, no way I would ever inflict her on the motoring public (she's also blind as a bat which explains why she thought I was worth marrying) :whistling:

TAT =Tourism Authority Thailand.

Not the website I would browse for information on vehicle registration.

I can also confirm from experience that a driver's licence is not required to register a vehicle in a person's name.

Agreed. Car and bike registered in wifes name but she has no licences for either.

I finally splashed out 5000 baht for her electric scooter and I wouldn't trust her with anything bigger. Already crashed into the same lamp post twice with interesting excuses.
