Popular Post webfact Posted May 4, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 4, 2022 A 34 year old man from Loei armed with a fake gun and a small axe managed to gain access to a restricted area at Suvarnabhumi Airport where a plane was parked. He was charged with breaching security and causing a dangerous incident at the airport, a charge that carries the death penalty or life imprisonment. At the least his escapade could see him jailed for up to 20 years and fined 600,000-800,000 baht said 77kaoded. Sorry mate, but you should be fired. A nutter on drugs got PASSED security and INTO the passengers. Should resign, as this nutter with no experience in terrorism made a complete mockery of your airport 'security ! 29 1 7

Popular Post Levi Patterson Posted May 4, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 4, 2022 Interesting. The clip showed an employee confronting the suspect then attempting a side kick at the suspect that was brandishing an axe. That employee was brave. He should be commended. 8

Most secure airports have double gates at vehicle access points which contain vehicles. They are allowed through the first gate which is then closed behind them, while the person/s are processed and the vehicle searched. They are then allowed through the second gate to air side areas. Something very lax going on here. 11 1
DjSilver Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 This is just normal Thai mentality. I can't understand why anyone is surprised since this is what the Thai schools anf society does to the Thai citizens. 1 1 2 1

Popular Post Robin Posted May 4, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 4, 2022 His real crime? Showing that there is no proper security at Thailand's airports. he should be commended for doing this. Ignore this warning at your peril, and allow Terrorists a weak point to get on an aircraft. Remember 9/11 ? happened because security at US airports was rubbish at that time and Terrorists knew that and took advantage. 3
Popular Post johncat1 Posted May 4, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 4, 2022 Understandably using guns around aircaft loaded with fuel could be very risy. But surely they could use a Taser like the British and American police do. 3

Popular Post spidermike007 Posted May 4, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 4, 2022 1. Airport director Kittipong Kittikhajorn needs to resign immediately so they can hire someone who is competent. 2. A thorough review of security procedures needs to take place. 3. What on earth was this guy doing wearing a cloth mask? Masks are ridiculous and completely useless on a motorbike anyway. But, when you want to invade an international airport, it does not serve much of a purpose. It just looks even dumber than he looked already. 3 3
Arthur Mullard Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 How many other places in the world would you see this desperate attempt to hit back at society! Did he believe his plastic gun could hijack a plane and set him free from the police state where he lives? Another example of care in the community failure, and a country really struggling with mental health issues.

Popular Post Bangkok Barry Posted May 4, 2022 Popular Post Posted May 4, 2022 I was at Don Muang airport domestic a while ago, and saw a rucksack left on a seat with no-one in sight. I went to the nearest gate and told the airline employee about it, and she asked me what to do! I suggested that it might be a good idea to call security, which she did and they didn't answer! She then asked me to show her the bag and I walked up the terminal just behind her and she walked right past without even noticing it! When we returned to the gate there were another couple of bags left right by the entrance to the airbridge. I asked her about those and her response was 'Oh, they belong to the (Thai) crew'. And there you have Thai 'security'. It's like dealing with children. And any potential terrorists will be fully aware of its shortcomings. It's probably only a matter of time, especially with the unrest in the South. 6

mancub Posted May 4, 2022 Posted May 4, 2022 Slack airport security fair enough, but I guess it's lucky the voices in his head didn't tell him that he needed to attack a bus or train !
