A federal grand jury has indicted Peter Navarro, a former Trump White House adviser, on criminal contempt of Congress charges over his refusal to cooperate in the House investigation of the January 6th attack.

 

The indictment comes after the House voted in April to refer Navarro to the Justice Department for failing to comply with a February subpoena from the House Select Committee on the January 6 Capitol riot.

 

Navarro was charged with one contempt count for his refusal to appear for a deposition, and another for his refusal to produce documents requested by the committee, despite the subpoena from the January 6 committee, the Justice Department said Friday.

They won't be able to last that long. They'll need to plead the fifth which won't be a good look and nobody besides Trump will pardon them because of the political cost. It's also looking unlikely that Trump will get the nomination. His civil cases will be settled by then and there's a non zero chance that he'll be indicted for the insurrection.

Will they be having postal votes again in the next election, or will they be clamping down on that , that could decide who wins next time

I guess excluding postal votes would prevent overseas stationed military and Americans working overseas from voting. Additionally, anybody who is unable to attend a voting center in person due to illness would also be excluded. Not likely to happen

It was quite obvious last election the the Democrats were going to stay away from the polls, mail in the ballots because of the pandemic while the rube demographic was being convinced that "it's just the flu" and crowd into the polling centers.

Yea, it was just a "peaceful protest' where participants (morons that believed Trump) show up in bulletproof tactical military gear, carry pitchforks and baseball bats, smash 150 police guards, scale the walls with climbing gear, enter the premises by breaking down doors and windows, chase the congressmen into safe rooms, erect a gallows and chant "hang the Vice President."

Don't worry, it will all come out at the January 6 committee hearings starting Thursday (Friday morning our time).  You're right that it's mostly small fry getting indicted now.  But the one's responsible--all the way to the top--should be getting some attention from the DOJ soon.  Justice will be done.
