Crime Korean Man Sentenced to Death in Vietnam for Patricide
File photo for reference only In a harrowing case, a 42-year-old Korean resident of Vietnam, Lim Youang Kwon, has been sentenced to death by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Court for the premeditated murder of his father. The court delivered its verdict on Wednesday, scrutinising the brutal circumstances that led to the crime. Kwon, residing in District 7 with his wife and two young children, became embroiled in a violent domestic dispute on 10 March 2024. During this altercation, he assaulted his wife and killed the family dog, prompting his wife to flee with their children and alert her father-in-law in South Korea. Deeply concerned, the father-in-law flew to Vietnam to mediate the family conflict. He arrived three days later, immediately seeking to address his son's behaviour over drinks by advising him to better his treatment of his wife. This well-intended counsel, however, inflamed Kwon's anger. Tragically, later that night, Kwon attacked his father in his sleep, wielding knives and scissors in a fatal assault. The morning after the crime, visibly distressed, Kwon attempted suicide by cutting his wrists and was found by a security guard outside the apartment building, who then took him to the hospital. At trial, Kwon confessed to the crime and requested leniency, appealing to the court with his duties as a father. The court, however, viewed the murder's brutality as too egregious to consider a lighter sentence, ultimately deciding that the severity of the act necessitated the ultimate penalty under the law. This sentence underscores the gravity with which Vietnamese legal authorities handle premeditated murder cases, particularly those with such intimate and violent circumstances. US Pushes Forward with Private Aid Plan for Gaza Amid UN Opposition
Interesting information on ex Hamas now turned criminal gang leader Abu Shabab in that link. He worked for Hamas previously making money for them through stolen aid but now him and his gang of looters broke away and do it themselves under the guise of helping security and now negotiates with the UN directly. From the above link. "Speaking to Sky News, Mr Abu Shabab denied that his men were involved in looting or had any arrangement with Israel." One senior aid worker described Mr Abu Shabab's claim as "comical". Another senior aid worker told Sky News he witnessed regular negotiations between Abu Shabab and the UN, during which Abu Shabab claimed to have control over all the looting gangs in southern Gaza. This is the scum here: A bit more about him and including a video of more negotiations this time with the Red Crescent. -
