BANGKOK (NNT) - In the midst of pressing economic crises, health issues, and global events, Thais have been urged to unite and aid the nation’s progress.

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha stated at the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) Expo 2022, "Shaping Future Industries for a Stronger Thailand," that the government is committed to working in everyone’s interests while increasing its competitiveness. He then called on the public and private sectors to collaborate in the face of changes and challenges.

Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Supattanapong Punmeechaow, Interior Minister Gen Anupong Paojinda, and Digital Economy and Society Minister Chaiwut Thanakasuson were also present at the event.

Referring to the so-called bio-, circular-, and green (BCG) economic model, Gen. Prayut said technological progress in a variety of fields necessitates Thailand’s innovative developments, which will impact the manufacturing sector.

According to the prime minister, the Thai government has been working with foreign governments in an effort to promote industrial development and strengthen the nation’s industrial base. Priority will also be given to issues concerning the country’s public health system and efforts to alleviate economic hardship among Thai citizens.

Gen Prayut went on to say that Thailand might need to import various types of fuel from abroad, in an effort to combat rising energy, transportation, and prices of consumer goods. He also defended the government’s borrowing, arguing that the loans were essential to stimulate spending and drive economic growth in the kingdom.

If you truly believe this statement Mr. PM, then why not create a true SafetyNet for the citizens of the country.  Where are the reduced priced food stuffs that has been touted, and how are the lower class folks being helped with  the increase of prices across the board due to inflation.

How is that going to help the common man/woman/child here in Thailand......

that's a nationalistic statement. A poor one, in face of political defeat at coming elections.

But what he meant is to sacrifice freedoms and wealth for the good of his government rule.

I don't think it would work well for the younger generation and for the lower strata of society.

The only way that will do him any good is if ALL the opposition parties are eliminated one way or another.

He unites us all in our desire for him and his cronies to step down and retire.

It's not the first time he has used that .

it was not a problem back in 2014 thus, unfortunately for democracy, he and his gang of cronies will do the same, the best way to avoid competition is to eliminate competition, he's a master at that  555

Awaiting the revolution.......it's looming large.

Matter of time, actually.

The astounding level of hypocrisy continues to take my breath away.

Sounds like one of those 'we're all in it together' rants, meaning the lower paid have to lower their living standards so the elites don't have to.

Doubt it, apathy reigns.

I think you're right.

Marcos Jnr. recently won in the Phillippines on little more than just promising "unity" (whatever that is, and however that is measured).

Speak for yourself.

I am not voting for him but he's not been as bad as many other PM I've experienced, esp Toxsin, Big Jew, Barharn, Yingluck. Not as good as Chuan Leekpai but.

There are too many resentment at play in the government. The people in govt. have to start loving each other for the good of the people.

Red shirts or orange shirts with yellow shirts - I do not think so!!

Shame all the corrupt officials and institutions can't pull together for the nation as they are too busy lining their bank accounts.

8 years of service, sacrifice and devotion to the nation, what a paragon of virtue and Thainess ????
