Pattaya News reporters reported on Wednesday, July 13th, from the Bali Hai Pier that the number of tourists was unusually low considering today marked the first day of the five-day-long weekend from July 13th to 17th. According to the Pattaya Marine Department, only 2,503 tourists, mostly Thais, Indians, Korean, and Vietnamese, came to Bali Hai Pier between 6 AM to 12 PM to board a ferry to Koh Larn, which was usually a very popular destination during the long weekend. Popular Post internationalism
foreign tourists are irrelevant to this thai religious holiday. That 2500 tourists is a lot, especially if they stay on this island. I would think bangkokians will move, when stop raining and they will play by ear if to stay for several nights. Hotel prices are very low, that indicates no demand. Many had holiday a month ago, at the beginning of June. Another holidays are coming at the end of month and the next month, people can't afford each holiday Edited July 14, 2022 by internationalism

Naroge
Not long ago I read that the residents of Koh Larn wanted to restrict the number of visitors to the island. Maybe the tourists listened?

Stargeezr
Well it is still rainy season, is it not? Here in Alberta Canada the temperature has been 28 to 31C for the daily highs, so no one here will travel to Thailand until the weather in the Fall months of September to November. It is November to March or April that we Canadians, need to escape the cold weather, and will be travelling to the tropics. Good luck with your rainy days.
