Popular Post webfact
Daily News Thai Caption: 100s of million (baht) paid? Firebrand former politician and soapy massage boss Chuwit Kamolwisit followed up on his claims about alleged illegal "grey money" from dodgy Chinese investors coming into Thailand. He said hundreds of millions of baht in dirty money was being laundered in pubs, bars and casinos. Thais were not benefitting at all. At least not ordinary Thais; it was inferred in the Daily News story that it might be the Royal Thai Police who get a little something. Despite assertions from a met deputy that nothing illegal is going on. Yesterday we reported cryptic comments made by Chuwit on Facebook. ASEAN NOW's suggestions about what they referred to were right on the money, not that it was too difficult to work out. Yesterday at a press conference at The Davis hotel in Sukhumvit Soi 24 Chuwit regaled the press with pen and paper citing "MR David, Chinese investment, grey business". He said he had no intention to seek fame but that what was going on was OTT. The police said there was no drugs involved but Chuwit said that the people believe his "evidence" not theirs and that Thais should not be happy with this kind of investment in Thailand. It was dirty money from China laundering 400-500 million baht in casinos, pubs and bars. He referred to "David's" business, the casino in "Building A", that would likely be open again soon. This appeared to reference a face saving raid in Rachada Soi 18 a few weeks ago. No one of note was arrested, just a few hapless gamblers, notes ASEAN NOW. He said that even the drinks came from China and all the punters were Chinese. There was no Thai investment at all and Thais were not benefitting. He asked for a proper investigation into the source of the money and the nominee. He has claimed that "David" is behaving like a Thai when he isn't one. He intimated that he has further information. Daily News said that metropolitan police deputy Maj-Gen Jirasan Kaewsaeng-ek had earlier said that Sutthisan police had fully investigated a pub on Rachada Phisek at the Huay Khwang intersection. They found no drugs, all the licences in perfect order and it was closing right on time. Yesterday Chuwit said it closed at 4 am and 50% of the clientele would test "purple" for drugs if the police did their job properly. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-07-14 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post BangkokReady
I'm not even sure what this guy's main point is. Popular Post Misty
So is the issue that 100s of millions are being laundered in illegal activities? Or that no Thais (including Mr. Chuwit) are benefiting?

Popular Post Silencer
I don't care why he is doing it, a vendetta or for personal gain. Would be great if more people would openly talk about what's going on behind the scenes, exposing it all, and let the "chips" fall where they will. Whispers, nods, knowing looks, just perpetuates it all. 10

BKKTRAVELER
He is probably right in his accusations. His motives are probably not what he claims they are. Most importantly, he is certainly in danger of going back to jail or worse. I hope for him that he has some sort of leverage to remain free/alive.

Purdey
It is about time that police officers (anyone above sergeant) had to declare their assets each year. Some will hide their assets well but catching unusually rich police colonels and generals every year may slow things down. My main concern is that too many will be caught and there won't be a police force left.

This scenario has never existed in the history of scenarios in all multi-verses It's been going on for many years Pratunam was full of illegal gambling dens when it was the main red light area, when R and R started, then the Red light slowly moved around to Nana. You can still see the peep holes in many of the buildings and houses in the back streets of Pratunam, my friend had a printing bussines there for over 40 years he used to tell me how it was when he first started as a young man from Denmark in his early 20s, he sadly passed a few years ago but his business still goes on managed by his family, he could speak fluent Thai and he also had Thai citizenship
