I am a well-known dog-hater. Cats are slightly better because they <deleted> in one place and don't need to be walked. I don't think any animal should be confined in a home or apartment. That's just human selfishness. Not only do many Thai dog owners confine their dogs to the cement driveway behind their gates but often in a cage as well. Why would anybody keep a vicious dog? And how can any dog owner stand that stupid barking? Nobody's breaking into your house! I should mention that Thais keep their old relatives indoors, never seeing the light of day for years! We have such neighbours on both sides. I walk by a house with a vicious German Shepherd. He is muzzled full-time. I go to places where I carry a metal rod because of dogs, sometimes in packs. Now to the euthanasia aspect. Despite the fact that monks eat meat (WTF!), the Buddha taught no killing. They don't apply that to meat but do to people and pets. Most veterinarians are not willing to kill your pet. In fact, I would be surprised if those drugs are even imported into Thailand, maybe even illegal. I'm told that aspiring in a bunch of meat cures a problem dog. The real problems are the owners.
