BPH has a large oncology  department  and a separate dermatology  department.

Skin cancer is normally a dermatology issue but few doctors in Thailand have much experience with it as it is not common among Thai.  As for oncology only see one doctor listed full time on BPH web site.

Dr. Hathairat at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya has been my preferred dermatologist for years. She's a wiz at removing moles and sun damage with liquid nitro and the laser. She also has a good eye for which lesions need to be sent off to the lab.

Among the scores of harmless crusty "won't heal" bits that she has evaporated, there was a plantar wart that had gotten down to the bone (she got it all on the first visit) and a basal cell carcinoma that was also working its way inward and required digging out with a scalpel. She nailed that one too.

I've had two strong recommendations for Dr. Nitivadee Teeyapan-Songdej. After a biopsy she excised an ugly skin cancer for one of my old friends, and he's had no further problems, extremely satisfied.

a Board Certified Specialist in Dermatology and Aesthetic Laser Surgery. She has practiced in the U.S.A for 15 years and has received training in over five countries.

I think that's because they work at other hospitals as well. Its department  is on the third floor.  Why not just go  there and arrange a biopsy?

An oncology dept deals only with confirmed cancers, especially those requiring chemo or radiation. It is not where one goes to find out initially if one had cancer.  For that one goes to the appropriate specialty, in this instance dermatology.  The problem is that few dermatologists in Thailand have  much experience with, or interest in, skin cancer. Dr. Anna was/is one of a kind. Besides her own skill she was careful about what pathologist she used as pathologist experience is also very important.

Thank you

I talked to BPH a few weeks ago and they told me that Dr Anna is working one day per week (Wednesday), but they also said she's out of office for 6 weeks through the end of August. Does anyone know a dermatologist that uses the same pathologist? I'm not sure if I still have a copy of my path report to track them down.
