Being allowed a free vote, where the result stands regardless of those "in influence", and the various agencies which they control would be a start.it really die

It really does not matter if people voted instead of blaming or rationalize reasons for not voting they get what they asked for no matter what country

"Why is Thailand called a democracy???"

I was under the impression it was a constitutional monarchy.

Mr Prayuth himself said that THai democracy is not the same as a western democracy....I think he did not know what he was talking about

General???? I thought he had to renounce that title when he went into politics. At least they wrote about that then. ????

I have absolutely no love for this guy—I mean, look at the narcissistic tool in his silly silk blouses—but it could be a lot worse here. Sometimes it’s better the devil you know!

When a single Thai Patriot grows a pair

Not that simple, There's the appointed senate, 80/90 snr military guys, none of these guys would ever step out of line to take a stand on anything.

Mr. Thai Joe Average isn't going to challenge the military stacked senate.

Unfortunately there's the big challenge.

However we all need to continue to support the protests in terms of the lower house.

In a poll, over 93% of respondents (sample over 300,000!) want Prayut to go after 8 years as the country's leader.

The constitution clearly limits the term of office of the national leader to 8 years.

51 scholars and professors from 15 leading law universities confirm that Prayut's term ends on August 24.

The constitutional court finally accepted the petition 2 days before the end of the term of office, although a petition on the same question had already been submitted 2 weeks earlier.

Now Prayut will remain seated and officially wait for the decision of the constitutional court, which, as already indicated, can take months, although the case is relatively simple, was predictable for a long time and has already been answered by the 51 legal scholars.

It is clear who is trampling on the will of the people, the rule of law and the democratic process.

Disgusting.

it's pass due date as his limit was Aug 23,  he won't quit and having senate in his pocket will make it easy for him to keep going

Prayuth would exceed an eight-year limit as stipulated by the 2017 military-backed charter if he stayed in office beyond Aug. 23.

Embattled Thai PM Prayut survives budget test in parliament

The budget will now go to the Senate, where Prayuth’s coalition commands a majority, for approval within 20 days.

According to Wissanu, even in the worst–case scenario in which he is forced out of office as prime minister as the result of a Constitutional Court’s ruling, Prayut Chan-o-cha will still be around in the Cabinet – not as prime minister but as defence minister.

Sick.

He was put in place to stay in place. He will not be allowed to move on until approval to do so is given. It is unclear at this point when such approval will be given.

Quite possibly the classic definition of a very sore loser. Loser is the key word here. If he is voted out, it is demonstrative enough, that he is no longer wanted, needed, or liked. What would it take to get the message. I guess this was never about a popularity contest, which this man could never win, under any circumstances.

Just go Cha Cha. Move on. Get on with your life, leave the Thai people alone, let them prosper. How much do you really need anyway?

Absolutely. At least we know he is a buffoon.

Better a buffoon than someone dangerous.

With Prayut suspended by the Constitutional Court from working as PM while the court adjudicate whether he has reached his term limit of 8 yrs or not, the 1st Deputy PM, Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, former deputy junta leader, will most likely become caretaker PM. #Thailand #นายกเถื่อน

What the hell is wrong with these folks, if he looses the position as the PM then all of his other positions evaporate as well...........He might as well start taking documents home with him to read up on what he is supposed to do in case it all goes pear shaped, like his #2 resembles.

NO Prayut, does NOT lose all his other positions.

He is STILL the Defence zminister  !

But, If Nobody is willing to take the position of PM, then the position could rest with the DM, until another PM is found

That may be the plan. The court will decide that he goes, but keeps him on as Defense Minister?
I didn’t  even know you could hold 2 positions ?!
