Thailand's Pheu Thai political party expressed their collective sadness at yesterday's massacre in the NE of Thailand, reported INN.

And they called for the government to take action and introduce measures that might prevent a repeat of the tragedy.

The messages were led by party chief Dr Chollanan Srikaew who expressed his sorrow about the events that unfolded in Nong Bua Lamphu yesterday that resulted in the deaths of 38 people including 24 young children.

He spoke of the "cruel execution of innocent lives".

He called for a full investigation, full compensation and action by the government in preventing any future tragedies of this nature.

The once-elephant in the room is YaBaa   YaaBaa   YaaaaBAAAAAA

OK, make sure not one pill gets into Thailand.

If not, this is like talking to a falang after 100000 beers in Pattaya he cannot touch a girl as the government said they have taken action to prevent falangs from touching girls.

Get a cracked up meth head and sit him (usually a guy) down and explain to him the laws.  Then give him some more crack and meth and ICE..... then see how he acts.

good luck on this one.

The police should NOT be allowed to investigate this incident. The conflict of interest is just overwhelming. The new national police chief should consider resigning as he has failed at his job. And the government overseer of the police should also resign in shame. That overseer is the PM.

The King should consider appointing a small panel, five at most, of the most uncorrupted people available (assuming that many can be located in Thailand), to investigate this matter and report to the public within 14 days with actionable items: recommended indictments, sackings, re-organization. Longer term they might stay on as an independent police commission.

The police have lost the respect and confidence of the people.

We all know how or should know how to stop all gun violence.

And we all know why or should know why that will never happen.

How to stop: The only way to stop shooting, stabbing, pressing red knobs etc. etc. is training of the mind. I am absolutely convinced of that.

Why this does not happen: It is actually happening, although slowly slowly slowly. The reasons are complicated. But this should not prevent every single fellow from trying again and again and again.

Did they ever have respect or confidence?

So are we to have an amnesty where we all surrender knives so that no-one can be stabbed to death?

Classic straw man argument. ????

The simple fact is less guns = less gun deaths.

Additionally, knives have practical everyday applications in day to day life, guns do not - assault rifles such as the AR15 definitely do not belong in civilian hands.

I am quite sure, should there be a study conducted, it would quickly be proven that the smaller a man’s  penis, the greater man’s love of guns.

Absolutely.. yet it doesn't solve the issue of murders by nutters.

They just use something else.

And the something else is a more or less effective killing implement resulting in a higher or lower death toll?

Without access to a gun, how many nutters would refrain from going on a spree in the first place given the odds not being so tilted to their advantage if they lack the decisive difference maker that guns are?

The recent mass shooting at a school in Texas had police officers to scared to confront a shooter armed with an assault rifle - they lingered outside for an hour whilst kids were being shot. This would not be the case had the “nutter” had a knife instead of an AR15 assault rifle.
