Popular Post webfact Posted October 10, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 10, 2022 Picture: Daily News Two CNN reporters who violated the pre-school crime scene in Uthai Sawan district where a former cop shot and stabbed dozens of people including many children last Thursday have been fined. Daily News had a picture of the reporters - named earlier as Anna Coren, 47 from Australia and Daniel Hodge, 34 from Britain - talking to RTP chief Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittipraphat and his deputy Pol Gen Surachate "Big Joke" Hakpan. Surachate said that he was satisfied that the reporters did not intentionally violate the crime scene and that they had asked "Can I come in?" They had been shown inside where they started filming and were later seen going over a fence after crime scene tape was put in place. This had followed a wreath laying ceremony. Surachate said it might have been a case of "miscommunication". What was established was that the reporters had flown into Thailand from Hong Kong following the massacre. After the incursion into the crime scene they had not fled Thailand but gone to stay in Udon Thani. Their actions were not intentional. They had tourist visas and were not allowed to work so both were fined 5,000 baht and escorted to the airport to leave by police. They said they both wanted to leave as soon as possible anyway. CNN was embarrassed by the incident that called into question press ethics. Damrongsak said that the case would not result in the pair being blacklisted but that the RTP had asked for their footage to be deleted. ASEAN NOW notes that pictures of a red carpet being unfurled were widely shared on social media along with a ceremony with many people in uniform. A wreath was being laid for an important person. This itself has been criticized in some quarters. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-10-10 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post flyingtlger Posted October 10, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 10, 2022 Hate those overly aggressive reporter! They'll say and do anything for a story. I had a lot of Thai friends and locals that hated Nick Robertson for all the one sided reporting he did in Thailand when there was the red shirt take protest. Kyang Lah is another vicious dog, troll that should be locked up under a bridge 5
Popular Post Tropicalevo Posted October 10, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 10, 2022 This is most sensible thing that I have read about this hoo-ha. 5 1
Popular Post ThailandRyan Posted October 10, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 10, 2022 Face saving measures have been put in place for all parties, and an assurance that this will never happen again I am sure has been made, by both sides of the equation. 5 2 1
Popular Post monkfish Posted October 10, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 10, 2022 So seems it's true what CNN claimed they were let in. I have to admit all Thai officials ( Civil Servants) in their uniforms look like police. Also there are plenty of graphic pictures and videos on social media inside the building so who made those pictures? 8 5

How if it has already been put out into the world wide press and viewed. Not sure it can just disappear, well it can be scrubbed to a degree, but the dark web will have it somewhere forever. 2

Popular Post bamnutsak Posted October 10, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 10, 2022 Getting lectured to by Big Joke was punishment enough. Simply amazing that rather than deal with the real issues this CNN story remains in the news. Meanwhile, any reporting on the real incident...crickets. 5 1 1 1

Do you know? Can he speak English? Can any of the current batch of snr. police speak English? 3
Rhys Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Poor judgement by CNN and questionable actions by the officials...wink wink. 1

I think one of the things that has people angry is the smirk/grin on Anna Coren's face in the picture that caught them jumping over the police line. To emerge from the scene of a mass murder with blood still covering the place wearing such a triumphant smirk on her face for getting the "scoop" reveals character--or lack thereof. 4 1 2
Popular Post Sharp Posted October 10, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 10, 2022 CNN should NEVER be in the same sentence as Ethics, News, Journalism. BROUGHT AND PAID FOR should though!! 2 2 2

Popular Post brewsterbudgen Posted October 10, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 10, 2022 Time to move on from this "non-story" now. There are real issues to be discussed about this horrendous crime and stop the deflecting onto journalists who are just doing their job. 9 1 1
Andycoops Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Deported in shame, at least it's something but no apology, disgraceful.
kingstonkid Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 CNN will want to drop this. I am sure that considering the new owners are trying to improve the company's image, this is not what they had in mind. As to the reporter, I think it might be best to go back to Aus and try a different business. She is not going to move very far up the food chain with CNN RTP could have charged them with more (forget about someone giving them permission) that person would disappear. Charging them and getting them out of the country was the fastest and easiest way to resolve this for everyone. 1 1

Iamfalang Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 check all YouTubers for a work permit. they are "reporting" on Thailand. If anyone asks me a question, I'll ask them, "Are you a reporter, falang?!!!" fined, deported. If CNN is "working" while walking off the plane, demand a work permit!!! Now, I'll admit I have "worked" as an online investigator for our stories of falangs jumping off buildings, and I do feel as though I worked a little bit to reach my conclusion. falang.............10000000000000000000000000000000 fine and deported. I'll wait for the smart car. bags packed 1
