Can a foreigner drive a minibus

Featured Replies

I am thinking to buy a minibus to convert into a campervan.

Can i drive it on a normal thai car license? The vehicle has the blue plates (blue text on white).

Yes you can drive it, but I think you will have to register it as a private vehicle. ie not blue on white plates= (taxi)

Blue letters on white plates are for private vans, not taxis.

If you look at the back of your Thai car driving licence you will see pictures of the vehicles that the licence permits to be driven here. CAR, SMALL TRUCK (UTE), MINIBUS.

Yes you can, good luck with the conversion !.

And perhaps check what they means in terms of insurances.

Good luck with the conversion.

Many, many, many moons ago when I lived in Holland I converted an old Volkswagen into a camper van. Had some great holidays, and adventures through France, and Spain on Holidays.

It would be great to see your progress through pictures, and comments.

Once again, best of luck, it is a very satisfying experience.
