No, I do not understand the ongoing hatred against Thai people and the always protective reactions against foreigners either. That´s why I work opposite. After all, I am in Thailand so it just seems like the right thing to do. All who not like it, can find another place in the world.

They cut the part out immediately before this where the Frenchman started walking away and the Thai guy goes after him and throws a leg kick. I haven't seen it from the start either, but the longest edit I saw showed this.

 

Starts with the Frenchman getting up off the floor (presumably he was knocked down there and didn't choose to sit down in the road of his own accord).

Thai guy kicks him.

French guy throws a punch that knocks the Thai over.

French guy starts walking away

Thai gets up and goes after him again throwing another leg kick.

Then the part shown by the Youtube video with the kick and the final punch by the Frenchman.

 

It didn't show who started it but it did shows that this wasn't a one sided attack. Far from it. 

This is gonna be a tough pill for the Thai apologists to swallow.

No one is suggesting the French guys are not wrong for their actions, but, a lot of ppl have identified that the Thai guy is not as innocent as the reports and some comments suggest. 
 

The Thai guy is clearly a willing participant in the fight and complicit in his own injuries.

This doesn’t appear to be the ‘cold unprovoked one sided assault’ reported in the media. 

It was a two sided fight which could be considered a mitigating circumstance.

 

 

There is still a lot missing from the story.  

So true, the media is only showing the part they want the public to see. Who hit whom in the accident prior to the fight? It appears to me from the anger of the French person that his vehicle was hit by the motorbike. The Thai person is a typical Thai fighter, hitting when someone walks away. The french person was only defending himself and should claim self defense in court.

Of course it matters. Legally and morally there is a huge difference between acting in self defense and an unprovoked attack.

Was his intent to do bodily harm with a punch? The good news is there is lots of evidence when one punch kills someone and how that is classified….just follow similar cases for charges

It sounds like she was jealous and possibly did some damage to the Porsche. I hope the French guy gets a really good attorney and exposes these frauds.

I've feeling that there's more to this story then what we've seen or heard and I haven't a clue who was at fault. One thing is certain though and that is if you're a foreigner here and you want to have your visa extended when the time comes, you must keep your nose clean. Whatever the provocation, unless your life is in danger, just walk away. Trying not to put locals in intensive care is a given.

… the only reason I’d stop my car & get out is to discuss any damage caused…

so… what really happened ?…..  motorcycle scratched the car ? Motorcyclist tried to escape ?  Situation escalated to a fight ? French guy angry fought straight away ??…..

Thai guy got off his motorcycle too….  The fight looks to be both guys behaving aggressively.
