Unnessary excess force so not self defence.

They or at least the main offender deserve at least 1 year in jail.

I never understand the open hatred many posters show for other white men.

I also never understand why some people say a bad white person ruins it for all of us.

I'm not French, I don't much like any French people, what they do is no reflection (good or bad) on me!

Maybe if I were a racist, I'd consider all white men my brothers, but I'm not, so I don't.

No, I do not understand the ongoing hatred against Thai people and the always protective reactions against foreigners either. That´s why I work opposite. After all, I am in Thailand so it just seems like the right thing to do. All who not like it, can find another place in the world.

Selective editing.

They cut the part out immediately before this where the Frenchman started walking away and the Thai guy goes after him and throws a leg kick. I haven't seen it from the start either, but the longest edit I saw showed this.

Starts with the Frenchman getting up off the floor (presumably he was knocked down there and didn't choose to sit down in the road of his own accord).

Thai guy kicks him.

French guy throws a punch that knocks the Thai over.

French guy starts walking away

Thai gets up and goes after him again throwing another leg kick.

Then the part shown by the Youtube video with the kick and the final punch by the Frenchman.

It didn't show who started it but it did shows that this wasn't a one sided attack. Far from it.

This is gonna be a tough pill for the Thai apologists to swallow.

Watch the video.

No one is suggesting the French guys are not wrong for their actions, but, a lot of ppl have identified that the Thai guy is not as innocent as the reports and some comments suggest.

The Thai guy is clearly a willing participant in the fight and complicit in his own injuries.

Just watch the video with an open mind.

Do you see the Thai guy kicking out at the French guy ?

Can't ruin the, "big, bad, rich,  Farang" story.

The media only care about the story, not the truth.

He's a little crazy. Why would a younger foreigner live with a younger Thai in Hua Hin?

It could matter from a legal perspective.

It definitely (IMO) matters from a moral perspective, the French guy could be seen to walk away when the Thai guy re-escalated with a kick.

This doesn’t appear to be the ‘cold unprovoked one sided assault’ reported in the media.

It was a two sided fight which could be considered a mitigating circumstance.

There is still a lot missing from the story.

So true, the media is only showing the part they want the public to see. Who hit whom in the accident prior to the fight? It appears to me from the anger of the French person that his vehicle was hit by the motorbike. The Thai person is a typical Thai fighter, hitting when someone walks away. The french person was only defending himself and should claim self defense in court.

It's clear that the Frenchman put the Thai in ICU, unnecessarily, what does it matter how it started?

Of course it matters. Legally and morally there is a huge difference between acting in self defense and an unprovoked attack.

Western media is worse

He threw a punch….he didn’t swing a 2x4….

Was his intent to do bodily harm with a punch? The good news is there is lots of evidence when one punch kills someone and how that is classified….just follow similar cases for charges

sounds like the wife gave a lot of bs about nice car, wish I had one, stopping for directions etc

if in fact motorcycle hit Porsche accidentally or not…her credibility is shot

Sure! Would have sounded a little bit different if the tables were turned, right? As usual, defend the mad foreigners at all costs. My vote is on that everyone who defends such bad people coming to Thailand should be deported as well.

What an attitude! Very short memories of tourists being beaten to a pulp by gangs of Thai men and yes old western men and women just walking down the road set on and ending up in icu. Very bitter.

Her story always sounded strange to me.

Clearly, she is just trying to cover for her husband who got involved in a fight willingly.

And trying to make it look like an unprovoked attack. Next, she'll be wanting compensation. Mark my words.

Excess force

Just use a headlock and throw the guy away or trip him over.

These guys are 55 to 60 kgs.

There wouldn't have been a fight if they hadn't stopped the car and got out.

It sounds like she was jealous and possibly did some damage to the Porsche. I hope the French guy gets a really good attorney and exposes these frauds.

They stopped the car and got out. The French guy is 100% in the wrong.

Didn't the Thai guy get off his bike too and approach?

Doesn't that make it 50/50?

  • Popular Post

I've feeling that there's more to this story then what we've seen or heard and I haven't a clue who was at fault. One thing is certain though and that is if you're a foreigner here and you want to have your visa extended when the time comes, you must keep your nose clean. Whatever the provocation, unless your life is in danger, just walk away. Trying not to put locals in intensive care is a given.

No. They could have just kept driving.

There's also talk now of their being contact between the vehicles, in which case you are legally obligated to stop to deal with insurance.

Agreed…..  now, why did they do that ?

… the only reason I’d stop my car & get out is to discuss any damage caused…

so… what really happened ?…..  motorcycle scratched the car ? Motorcyclist tried to escape ?  Situation escalated to a fight ? French guy angry fought straight away ??…..

As has been written, we are not getting anywhere near the full story here.

But you said it was 100% is farang's fault.

The Thai could have kept driving too, by your logic.

If that was true, there's a big difference between exchanging insurance details and putting a guy into a coma.

Thai guy got off his motorcycle too….  The fight looks to be both guys behaving aggressively.
