Yep as already mentioned a Whip Scorpion ???? Maybe better called a false scorpion as it doesn't have a stinger.

looks mean and nasty - but totally harmless.  Only means of defence is to emit a pungent odour - hence the name 'vinegaroon'. There are tailed (this one), and tailless varieties.
