Melbourne, Australia – Thailand has taken delivery of its first Textron Aviation T-6C Texan II turboprop trainers, with the Southeast Asian nation planning to use them for training and as light-armed aircraft.

Two T-6Cs arrived at the Royal Thai Air Force or RTAF base Kamphaeng Saen northeast of the Thai capital Bangkok, with a welcoming ceremony attended by senior RTAF officials and U.S. Ambassador to Thailand Robert F. Godec according to Thai defence blog thaiarmedforce.com.

Images and videos of the trainers released by the RTAF showed that they carried the U.S. civil aircraft registration N2773B and N2792B for their delivery flight.

Oh I thought the Textron T-6C Texan II turboprop trainers were some kind of running shoes that Thai pilots wore for doing a runner after they crash.

Use them for potential fighting - get a life.

All trainers will be fully armed with GT200 bomb detectors.

They can help their attack simulation by shouting Dakkak-dakka-dak bogie at 12 o'clock and several more sitting in government ????

So Thai air, already carcinogenic, just got more dangerous; soon it will rival Thai roads.

And rainbow laces. 555

I hope they took plenty of photos, as the aircraft wont look to good in a few weeks.

Some may get to see the new year, if lucky

Exactly what I thought , Then i thought maybe they are some sort of baby under crackers with a fancy name.

On the right of my monitor are Nike airforce 1 shoes advertised so why not turbo prop trainers.

Against who?

asking or a friend.

I wonder why the RTAF did not go for the PC 21 as a successor to their PC 9

I suspect this a case of the Government telling them what they will buy.

Nice looking trainer aircraft. It seems that some posters expect pilots to train in

something different, of course they are not pilots themselves.
