Popular Post webfact Posted November 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2022 77kaoded went to Samut Prakan south east of the Thai capital Bangkok after a shooting incident at some condo buildings in Bang Poo Mai. It happened at building V8 of Charoen Sin condominium. A 38 year old man that the media named only as Wee said that he had become fed up with his noisy neighbor opposite in Block V7. When the neighbor came out on the balcony at 5 pm he shouted over to ask him if he would please turn the sound down at night. The neighbor called back to apologise and say that it wouldn't happen again. But the pair agreed to meet downstairs all the same. When they were downstairs out front of the buildings another man turned up with a gun. He said he was the neighbor's cousin and started threatening him. "So you think the gun isn't real, eh? he said. Then he fired a shot at the ground and added menacingly: "You still think it's not real?" He then started waving his weapon around before walking off. The police were originally called after the incident on 191. But nobody showed up. So the complainants in the shooting had to find the number of the Bang Poo police and call them. They were on the scene at 10pm gathering evidence. By then the two people in building V7 were long gone. CCTV and witness evidence will be used to help crack the case. A video with the late evening aftermath to the shooting featured in the 77kaoded story. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2022-11-22 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post proton Posted November 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2022 Although not as bad as this in the Mrs village the house opposite us in the moobaan had speakers outside playing every night. Mrs asked them to turn the sound down, instead they took the system in and never spoke to us again. Sometimes complaining works, even though they often act like scolded children. 9 1 1 4

Popular Post Andrew65 Posted November 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2022 I remember many years ago an old friend was stopping across the road from quite a new hotel in Bangkok. When he complained to the owner of the hotel about his '3 million watt' speakers out on the pavement, and threatened to call the cops the hotel owned just laughed and said that he would just call the chief of police. Noise is a big problem in Thailand. Whenever I stopped in Pattaya I tried to make sure that it wasn't within about 1km of such places! 6

Popular Post mmail2you Posted November 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2022 So who do you call about noise issues ? 191 is manged by city hall so the person who is running the noisy place has a very strong $$ relationship with city hall who runs the call centre 191. 3
apophyss Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Put farang traditionnal old music (cornemuse or anything "strange" for them) and they will stop... 1
Popular Post ikke1959 Posted November 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2022 Another example of a failing policeforce.. In my country when there is a lot of noise the police wil come and give a warning. If there is no stopping the polce will show up again and confiscate the installation.... and a big fine.. It is for everyone, concerts, karaoke bars and individuals.. no exceptions... But here in Thailand, the only answer you get is that they have the right to have a party, or that the must earn a living...and the RTP can play on their mobiles futher..... 2 2
Popular Post andyman57 Posted November 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2022 Had neighbours like that years ago non stop loud music I asked my thai wife to go and ask them to turn it down her reply up to them . 1 1 1 3

This is something you're supposed to get over by the time you're out of yours teens (at the latest!) but so many Thai's never seemed to learn how to handle conflicts. It would be a nightmare to actually work here and rely on these people in real life situations. Blows my mind how people pull it off. 5 4
Popular Post Mickeymaus Posted November 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2022 Central Pattaya - I just walked past a bar where they're having a party tonight - like almost every week. Speakers have just been installed. 3 meter high towers right next to the area where guests are supposed to sit. I don't think anyone can stand that noise and usually almost no one is sitting in this bar when they are having a party. But somehow the don't get the message... Can anyone explain to me their logic? 3 1
Popular Post Airwolf Posted November 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted November 22, 2022 Why would the cops bother going to a crime scene with a gun man, when they can safely collect money at traffic stops. 3 1

Wee, from Bang Poo Mai [sic]...Jesus Christ, unbelievable. It's Bang Pu Mai, as everyone, including the writer of the original report, knows. 1

Schooling is not only to learn basic math (addition), basic language, history of Kings and Buddha fairy-tales. It is also supposed to be where you learn life skills. But I guess if the teachers have no life skills then total failure beckons.???????? 3

The police are right when they said "contact the council" the council has the power to have people evicted for noise crimes and bad behaviour. Where I live the local police would definatly attend but many police in the uk are so busy arresting people for saying things on twitter or Facebook that someone takes offence to. 3 1 2

Quite right about where you live in the UK. My next door neighbour's house was empty as she was away for the weekend and the burglar alarm went off at about 2 a.m., so I phoned the Police. Their reaction? "Can you check and see if there is any signs of a break in, or see if there are any intruders?" I replied "Is that not your job?" (I wasn't about to put my health at risk!) and put the phone down. As I had given them the address, they attended the scene about 2 hours later to switch off the alarm, by which time any "intruders" will have been long gone!

Of course! Simples! - they think that the louder/better their P.A. system is, the more customers it will attract. You and I know that is not the case, and the empty seats bear witness to that, but "Thai anti logic" is hard to understand sometimes! The same applies to empty bars charging sky high prices for drink. I once asked why, and I got the answer "Because we don't have many customers"! Doh! Just take it from there! 1 3 5
