Pattaya Hotel Guest Locks Herself in Bathroom, Arrested After 30-Minute Standoff
Sounds like a normal farang / Thai household? Screaming, tantrums, refusing to leave...30 minutes of negotiations a bit light on though. Can go on for days 🤕 -

British National Killed in Sattahip Motorcycle Accident
You can see the red hub with spokes broken off still between the fork stanchions and a bit of the rim in the road. He must have hit whatever at quite a speed to smash the wheel like that. -

Met Police Officers Reinstated After Appeal Over Bianca Williams Stop and Search Incident
The challenging bit remains, why were the pair stopped, and handcuffed, particularly when she was with a three month old baby, when there was no trace of drugs or weapons, and no real prospect of violence. These two may be “dedicated, hard-working, and much respected officers” whose reputations have been “ruined”. They rather seemed to have smelt cannabis, when this couple drove past them in their car? -

Car recommendations
I test drove a BYD Sealion and was impressed. i am looking for a car for the family - 2 adults and 2 small kids. Also would be nice to fit the grandparents when they visit from Europe but again this I know is not always. we drive to school/work every day and then shopping or into Bangkok city center at weekends. we drive to pattaya and rayong for getaways and Koh Chang etc. can you recommend any suitable cars? Not more than a Million and I am open to electric if it’s a good option but I will want to sell it on when we leave Thailand. Will be putting down around 200K and financing the rest. THANKS! -

Thailand’s Bold Move: Decriminalising Sex Work Sparks National Debate
They were prevented from getting the free handouts over Covid because they didn’t have a contracted job. However, doesn’t stop them paying into the national pension plan as the article mentions, everyone can do it, they have offices in every city. Also, it’s not an issue to register and pay tax here, is it? I’m not too sure what benefits paying tax would bring. -

The Republican Freak Show
This guy has perfectly encapsulated my feelings toward Trump, who I referred to as a "despicable human being", before his 4 year stint. He has changed a lot of minds (including JD Vance's) Not to mention, millions of Blacks and Latinos. Somehow, Donald Trump has changed my mind. Where I once saw a cartoon white supremacist, warmonger, and narcissist, I now see the man who renegotiated NAFTA and the only president in the twenty-first century not to start a new war. Where I once saw the pal of the neocons, I now see a man who has awoken from his slumber and disavowed Dick Cheney, George Bush, and John Bolton, even as my own party embraces these “men.” https://vigilantnews.com/post/democrat-writes-powerful-career-suicide-note-on-why-he-is-voting-for-trump/- 1

Thailand's Cashless Leap: Ahead of the Asean Pack by 2028
The fees for using online payment systems have to be borne by the retailer and this will be reflected in the price charged to every customer. The fees are a cost of business similar to rent, utilities and staff; all of these have an influence on the ticket price of every item. The retailer will not impose a specific surcharge for each online payment because of the reasons you state, but they will increase prices across the board, and this will affect every purchase no matter what the payment method. -
