Burglars steal property worth three million baht from Danish man and his Thai wife’s three houses in Koh Samui

I see lots of damp on the walls and ceiling.  Termite damage too around the window frames.

People taking large sofas and air con units away on scooters....hmmmm.

I am very suspicious this is just a scam.  The houses are in such a bad state of repair that no one wanted to live in them... And he could not rent them out.

Maybe insurance money will pay for nice refurbishments.  Idk.  Just seems really strange to leave 3 houses empty for so long with no security or the wife's family living in them..or at least one of them.

Could be, but it's a pretty obvious scam. Broad daylight, seen carting truck loads of stuff away, nobody says a word?

Happens every day. Thais never see anything and never know anything.

Especially when it Thai against Farang.

This is disgusting. These guys trashed 3 houses, and for what? Spite? Revenge? Envy? I hope the cops find them.

"In your face wealthy"? Aren't you making massive assumptions? And if everybody's that poor, who's going to rent them? And sacking/letting go the maid? Where does it say that? Owning and maintaining property in Thailand is hard work. Finding someone you can trust is the number one problem.

But overall, there is scant background information on this, so as usual, just to make matters worse, Messrs Guess it and Speculate, online detective agents, are hard at work, condemning and blaming. It's all the victim's fault.

3 houses and property worth more than three million baht  say wealthy. The gossips will make sure everyone knows it.

And if everybody's that poor, who's going to rent them?

People on Samui rent places to oversea visitors, don't they?

And sacking/letting go the maid? Where does it say that?

It's inferred.

Owning and maintaining property in Thailand is hard work. Finding someone you can trust is the number one problem.

Didn't work for them leaving no one to keep an eye then, did it?

It's all the victim's fault.

IMO they had options to protect the properties and did none of them.

IMO the damage done was because the burglars had a personal hatred for the owner.

Agree. In Lamphun, house across road was "worth" a million baht, but every piece of wood eaten by termites.
